I purchased a driveway gate opener from this company about 2 months ago. It supposedly had a 2 year warranty. So far in the 2 months since I have had this system, I have spent about a thousand dollars and many days and nights of hard work installing and constantly battling problems, and have gotten maybe 5 days worth of actual service from this system, with no help from this company at all.
When I first received my system from them, after many labor intensive days and nights setting this up, right away, it didn't open the gate even once. It had a faulty control board. I contacted the company, or rather contacted their voice mail system. Their website says, "feel free to call us anytime." But what you get is not an actual living person. You get a voice mail that tells you they will call you back. The thing is, they never call you back!
Only after I hemmered them with email after email could I get a response. But I figured out after the fact that their response was actually to get more money from me. Here is how the scam went: They said that they will warranty the control board, but I had to send them $85 "security deposit" which will be refunded once they get the old control board back. It is now more than a month later after I sent the old one back registered mail, and guess what? Nobody has even signed for the returned item!
I installed the new control board and it worked for about a day. Then, it started messing up again, this time it would "forget" all the settings and go heywire. It wouldn't open or close at all. I reprogrammed it and it worked again for about a day or two. Then mess up all over again. I finally thought I got past that issue, and then the electric latch burns out and the gate wont open again. I removed the electric latch and the gate worked once and blew up again! All the while I am contacting this company over and over again with no response at all! They are there when it comes to accepting your money, but disapper when it comes to any technical support.
The product is horrible! The instructions are a very bad translation from Chinese to English and hard to understand. When I first bought the product there was only one seller of this item at the web address. Now I find another seller of this product at the website and on EBAY located in Washington. I am guessing that theye are setting up another alias to attempt to run from complaints.
LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE! If you want a gate opener system, stay away from an unknown brand name! Go to a local retailer to buy it so that you can get support if needed.
Do not buy a Lockmaster Gate Opener or ANY Chinese manufactured system! You will be sorry!
