We wanted a new bed, and had out of state company coming for Thanksgiving holidays so we called ahead to get credit approved and we got that before we ever went shopping at their store.
Once at the store we looked around at the various bedroom outfits and compared prices. Finally decided to just get a kingsized chiropractic mattress set and not an entire outfit. Suddenly the sales woman remembers another outfit in the price range we were looking for, and it just happened to be a discontinued outfit that no one had ever owned before or so she claimed. We looked at it and saw nothing visibly wrong so we arranged for delivery. The delivery man said we were his 2nd delivery of the day at 10 am, he arrived at 18 till 4pm.
The chest of drawers had scratches in 3 places on top, and the dresser had a long gouge mark about 4 inches long. The round wood ball head board had nicks all over them, and they had no bottom frame support to hold the king size mattress underneath. The headboard & footboard were a lighter shade of wood than the damaged chest and dresser. So no frame to hold the 2 pieces for the bottom of the bed & the whole bedroom set arrived damaged! One of the twin bottom pieces arrived with a slash through the plastic & into the material covering it. I called the store & they said they would "fix it" I asked if they planned to take $ off for the damage? She said NO they would just fix it repair it. No one ever said they were sorry it arrived in that condition, and for $800.00 it should have arrived in the condition we had viewed it in at the store.
We were put on hold, and at least 4 different people kept picking up the phone then passing us to the next one. They said they would come & take it back minus the mattress which we were planning to keep. They said they would come on Saturday, and also told my husband it would be the following Tuesday. I spoke to them last 40 minutes later than my husband aND THEY PROMISED TO come get it Saturday. They did a no call no show. Friday they called me at work and promised to remove the $800.00 off my bill before saying they'd come Sat. Tuesday is Dec 2nd both my husband & I work & can NOT just wait around indefinetely for this bunch to mabe come and pick up the damaged bedroom set they delivered to us. After looking the chest of drawers over more closely, I have observed marks thatr look like previous damage that had been repaired.
When calling this business the on hold message says that they treat their customers, the way THEY want to be treated and had made many peoples holidays very happy. I had to laugh! They held up our days and my company also waited Sat for them so they ruined our Thanksgiving, and took up time I could have spent visiting my company! If this is how they want to be treated we would like to invite everyone who sees this to drop by and offer them all their Sanford & Son used and beat up furniture and while you are delivering it forget to apologize for how bad it looks or the fact it took all day to get there. Beware any shoppers in St Louis who think that an offer of easy credit is all they claim because we truly believe this company is selling used furniture at new prices and claiming it to be new. The customer service we have received has been a complete run around and stall tactics with an I don't give a #!! Attitude.
I wrote an email to their customer service department and have yet to get any reply. They have shown us they just do not care!
