Question - Servpro

This review needs to be forward to Servpro Corp. For their action: Servpro benefits from the hardship of others. I had water damage of 4 inch thru out my home I called my insurance who called servpro. Both Servpro francises in this review were fully aware this was an insurance project and the one doing the restoration project knew there would be a depreciation figure and an allowable restoration cost estimated by the insurance. The initial servpro of Simi Valley, CA provided excellent services. When it came time for the restoration and the insurance agent was telling me I needed to get three bids for the work. Servpro of Simi Valley recommend his son who owned a Servpro. We met several times and the insurance claims agent was part of several of the meetings not all and talked about the restoration project. Several times during our conversations I indicated very clearly that as we approach the end of the project I needed to sit with him and go over the charges/pricing of what was done. The day came 30 June and even though they were not finished I had already given Servpro more than a third of the estimated cost plus on this date I handed him another check bring the total received by servpro to $15,000.00. We met in my home on the date above and when I present him with a list and the allocated cost of services that were not performed/done but the charges were in the invoice. He got real up set and started making comments that I wanted to make money out of the deal when in fact what I wanted to do is understand why I was being charged for services not performed. He became very hostile and asked his workers to pack up and leave, therefore not completing the project. After several threatening phone calls and leaving messages on my answering maching I recieved an invoiced for the total amount which includes the work/services which were not performed and the figure allocated to depreciation which without a completion certification that is not obtainable. With the invoice they included a notice of lien which they placed on my home for work they did not complete. Example: Paneling removed and replaced - I removed the paneling myself and it was never replaced but the invoice indicates $912.00 for the removal and replacement; Bathroom mirror taken down and reattached - that was never done and the list goes on and on. Does servpro corporate informed there franchises that this type of business practice clearly indicates fraud. Or is it a franchise corporation which endorses these type of business practice. Its too bad that persons never research the Servpro services until they find themselves dealing with them. I am in the process of finding an independent contractor which I will reseach their background and business practices to finish the work Servpro of Woodland Hills, CA did not do and is seeking payment for a completed project they did not complete. The above demonstrates the business practices which seems common to Servpro.
