Oakwood homes took advantage of a severly disabled veteran of the Air Force. Stated and claimed that things would be repaired, replaced or fixed. To include have the home ground set by subcontracted companies.
The home at one end it 24 inches above the ground the other is 4 1/2 feet. When the home arrived the back half of the home was brokent outside as well as on the inside. The kid's closets were were distroyed, the cabnets and cupbaords were coming off the walls. The kid's bathroom is a mess, the toilet sits leaning to one side the sink and cabnit are coming away from the wall. The tub sits uninsulated and you are able to see the ground where the tub should be connected to the floor.
We have found countless screws under the carpetting of our house. Very few pipes that they say were replaced were never insulated. The master bath shower leaks no matter what. The drains in the two bathrooms in the tub and the shower take eternity to drain. You can see daylight coming from around the bath in the master bathroom. To top it all off the house leans into the middle. So if you were to set a marble on the floor it would roll to the middle of the house. The back and front doors leak and alow sunlight in. The floor at the back door buckled. The hot water heater exploded not one but a few weeks after we got the house. The sub floor or flooring under the hot water heater is a joke. I am still surprised the hotwater heater we have replaced is still in the house. One corner of the family room has dropped several inches where it broke on the outside and no one company is taking resosibility for fixing it. The roof that was glued on to my house started to blow off with the very first winds of the fall season. And no one is taking responsibility. The wiring in the house is a joke.
After replacing a light switch in the master bedroom we lost all the lights to the kitchen and all of the outlets.
The cabinets the separate the living room from the family room were perfectly straight when we had seen the house on the lot and now not one cabinet is straight and the hearth to the fireplace (see through firplace) on both sides have come away form the walls and are not straight either. The furnace that came with the house has also been damaged, the coil in the unit called the a frame, has be either hammard or crushed in various areas. During a rain storm the windows rattle and leak.
And ever since my family has lived in this house there has been no state inspector, which oakwood claimed there would be, to inspect the house. My two children and wife have been seen for various illnesses sence we lived in this house and doctor visits at least twice a month per child from October to present.
