On May 13, I entered into a contract with ARE Tree & Landscape of 5172 Marybrook Dr, Toledo, Ohio 43615, which stated they would furnish all the materials and perform all the labor necessary for the completion of removal of 1 dead pine to ground, removal of 1 tree next to house, removal of 1 tree behind house (driveway), trim 1 tree front of house by garage and cut tree on east side of house.
Additionally per the contract all material is guaranteed to be as specified and the above work is to be performed in accordance with the drawings and specifications submitted for the above work and completed in a substantial workmanlike manner for the sum of $1300. As you will see from the following pictures, the manner of "completion" of the job was anything but workmanlike (a word which means skillful and well executed per dictionary.com), leaving behind a mess of their work space, mistreating, ruining and failing to return borrowed tools which belong to me which they utilized (some without my express consent) and generally lacking overall professionalism in handling their service.
My parents always told me never to pay for a job before it was completed to my satisfaction. How I wish I had listened to their advice when dealing with ARE Tree & Landscape!
They left with sawdust and other tree parts around all the stumps, failing to return to complete the cleanup of the tree removal they were contracted to execute at my private residence.
I noted a large pile of remnants from the pine tree ARE Tree & Landscape downed at the side of my home and asked them about it. After sending the remnants through their rented chipper, they left behind the mess which hardly qualified as mulch because of the small twigs and bark pieces though I had expressed that I needed no "mulch", those this detritus can hardly be considered "mulch"!
After the top of the pine tree fell on my fence and destroyed the top bar and part of the lattice on Monday, May 18 at dusk, I was promised by Elizabeth Eiser for ARE Tree & Landscape three times that they would obtain supplies and have it repaired the next day. Exhibited in this photo is my makeshift repair I completed after ARE Tree & Landscape left the evening of May 18th. This is the state in which this fence remains.
After ARE Tree and Landscape departed my home on Tuesday, May 19th, I was appalled to find that the garbage can which had been used by them without my permission no longer had any wheels and well as the wheel barrow which I had allowed them to borrow was also full of tree refuse. When I contracted and paid in fully for tree removal, I didn't expect so much of the trees to remain on my property!
More debris and disappointed left behind by ARE Tree and Landscape after they were paid in full. My hard earned cash went into their pockets without a job finished and well done.
Additionally, it should be noted that over the course of their endeavors, they needed to utilize a file, which I allowed, but has yet to be returned to me. Also, I offered a great deal of hospitality to this team of four. To say that I am disappointed in the way I was treated in return is not putting it strongly enough.
Please, everyone out there who is seeking tree removal, heed my warning. Do not waste your time and money with ARE Tree & Landscaping. If this is the way they left my property, what do you think they will do to yours?
