I hired Pioneer Property Management in Austin, Texas, Where I invested in a single family dwelling as a rental, in November.

Since the beginning I have had bad service from Pioneer Property management company.

Kitty, who manages my property in Austin, has made numerous errors and seems to not care at all. She fails to return my phone calls.

They put up a great front before you sign the contract. After that, it is the worst bait and switch nightmare and my stress level is incredibly high.

To say I wasn't satisfied with Kitty, who was the initial property manager, would be a massive understatement. I kept catching her errors and she would just become defensive, explaining that she was in this business for thirty years.

The rent is collected from my investment property ON THE FIRST of the month. (Yes, I have great tenants— that I found on my own efforts)

I do not receive my monies until the 25th of the month. When I asked why. They don't give a reason.

I asked to speak with the owner, Paul Meisler, which is impossible. All you get is his voicemail. He NEVER returned any of my calls. Wouldn't the owner of a Property management company want to know about any issues of a very unhappy "new" client. NOT PAUL MEISLER.

I did find one person who seemed to explain some of the mysteries concerning my money. Crystal, in accounting seemed a little interested in assisting me. When I told her that I caught Kitty in errors regarding my income that I was to receive and that I was concerned that I was receiving the money from my investment 25 days after THEY receive it.

Crystal said that I should speak to her from now on and reassured me that she would assist me if ever I had questions or concerns. I felt a little better.
I suggested that perhaps, if I send them a deposit slip, she could deposit the money into my account instead of mailing it.

She told me she would be happy to do so, and I faxed her the deposit slip so she could deposit the money on the 20th, Instead of mailing it. (I Still cannot get a reason why it takes so long to receive the rent from my investment— but ok—atleast I was speaking to someone who seemed willing to help)

She forgot to deposit it. She gave me the excuse that she took the day off and had a personal issue. Something about her kid being sick.

I stupidly took her word when she told me what day she would deposit and I had a debit going through the day after the money was to be in my bank account would be there. Needless to say, the debit created an overdraft that I had to pay.

I was so upset that she didn't have another staff member deposit the check. This was negligence.

She told me that she would see that the overdraft fee would be reimbersed and the managent fee would be waived the following month.

Neither happened. They instead charged me 100 dollars this month. I called Pioneer Property management immediately when I received the rent money minus the 100 dollars. The receptionist kept putting me through to Kitty's voice mail, even though I specifically asked for Crystal. I called back asking to speak to Crystal, again they put me through to Kitty's voice mail. There were two receptionists. They both were laughing when I called back.

Infact, Crystal will not return my calls. She has had Kitty respond to me by email once. Kitty, the inept property manager.

I never know what these people are up to. Every month they make charges to my account, they don't return calls, they don't deposit when they say they will, I never know what amount I am to receive. I am never notified of any charges. I always have to call to find out— and NO ONE WILL TAKE MY CALLS OR INFORM ME OF WHY THERE ARE CHARGES until I receive the funds.

In the contract on the first page reads this statement:

The charges will not exceed an amount equal to one month's management fee, unless prior notice has been given to OWNER.

This is on the first page of the contract. This is the most blatant BREACH OF CONTRACT. First of all all these charges have exceeded the management fee and I have never been notified of any of the charges.

I called this morning leaving yet another voicemail for Crystal wanting an explanation of the $100.00 charge. No reply.

I have seen similar complaints regarding this company on line. I only wished I read them before I hired these crooks.

And this Paul Meisler. He has never returned any calls, emails— but he has taken my money.

I am counting the months until November when my contract ends— but I am scared somehow they won't let me out of it.

This is the worst business decision I have ever made. Other complaints I have read regarding this company describe them as "Criminals" I would have to agree.

All I want is to ge out of this contract. This has been worse than having irresponsible tenants and I am very stressed from it.
