We are so upset about what Rock Tops Granite has done. We purchased our tops on 12-13-08 and set a measure date for 12-19. The measure guy called an hour before and said he was sick and he couldnt help us reschedule but we should call the main number. We'll we've been calling ever since! We left several messages before the holidays and just never got a call back. We thought they would call us 1-5 or so after the new year. Still unable to leave a message and no different sign on the door... All along we thought all would be fine. I emailed the masters institiue of america on 1-5 which is a logo on their brochure to see if they were members and to tell them how bad our service had been so far about returning calls and the email back was apologizing that the owners were taking everyones money and running. That was the first we had even heard about that! They said that Rock Tops was not a memebr and have been asking them for years to take that logo off their brochure. I think the measure hguy lost his job on 12-19 and didnt have the guts to tell us. It would have been nice to know then instead of now.
I think a proper exit strategy would have been all they needed. Even if we were going to loose our butts at least a letter in the mail apologizing or a simple message on thier voice promt would have informaed us all of what had happened. I went by there (ofallon) this monrning and there still is no indication they are out of business. We are out the money we paid for the granite tops (check) so we can't get it back. I think its just terrible and we are heart borken about the money we lost. The ofallon store still doesnt even have a sign about the company closig. It says its closed for the Holidays. If anyone has details about how to get the down payment back for the ocunters we would appreciate it. All the things I am reading about these guys soundlike they were smart enough and could have done a much better job about handling their dirt.in these economic times its not unheard of to loose a business but these guys should have had the decency to share information with its vendors, employees and customers. I think how they handled it makes everyting so much worse.
