I contracted with The Kitchen Connection to build cabinets and othercustom items in our multi million dollar "Dream Home" Twnelve pieces of furnitur, kithchen baths, entertaiment center, pantry ect. Everything wnet horribly wrong! Salesman Mark Ralston is a liar and a con. Draftsman James McLean destroyed the dream master vanity and closet. Carol Bush must be nuts to say that Vlade, Haime, Miguel, Alex and the high school kids they had on my job were the best installers they had. The installer, Vlade, was insulted at the end of the job when I refused to give him his deserved TIP! Where is the human resource department?
The installation was a horrible mess. My wife and I still to this day 1-11-07, have a hard time sleeping at night. Our Dream home is ruined and the Kitchen Connecting hides. The workmanship was hit or miss, day to day. The intallers were speaking spanish, knocking the company and making unwanted comments about the female of the house. This was reported to Carol Bush and she did nothing!
The "Peace of Mind Guarantee" on The Kitchen Connection web page is unwritten and false advertisement. It is a joke and fraud. There is no Policy and Procedures manual for this group of fools. It is all shoot and rip off from the hip. The two owners, George Steincamp & Chuck Hendrickson are dishonest crooks. They refuse to address facts, written documents, insult my wife and make her crey on the job site, then brag about having seventh row seats at Staples with the Lakers. These men are abusive and insensitive to their customers problems.
The finish cabinet sprayers were spraying my cabinets in the dirt in my back yard. All the cabinets were sand blown. The non english speaking sprayers, led by, Eulysis, were spraying ten drawers in my nine foot travertine tile shower one day and yes, believei it, they did not even use plastic to cover the brand new $ 50,000. Custom bath tile!!! The same day 12-5-06, they were spraying in 40 mile per hour wind and all the new and wet doors blew ovewr in my yard. When I demanded they replace them with new doors, Greg Madden, installation manager, sent me used doors that were spryerd with stain and they tried to be wipes off. They look horrible because I have a clear Maple finish on all my cabinets and now we have clear next to "wiped stain" cabinets. When the owner kitchen connection owner saw the stains in the wood he turned and walked away with no comment. This is all on video.
Mark Ralston, the salesperson, Carol Bush and George Stiencamp, all tied to rip Sheila and me off. We were given a OC Fair discount of 25%. Our three page, vague, hard to read and confucing contract added up to $69,000. The 25 % discount was never discounted. This we feel is Intentional Fraud by The entire Kitchen Connection group. When I complained I did recieve a phone call from Mark Ralston, salesman, and George Steincamp, owner, saying yes the contract price is befoe the 25% discout. I was given a written 25% discount credit document by owner, George Steincamp on the China Hutch I ordered.
When I asked for the entire contract discount, which is our fraud case against Chicken Connection, Carol Bush called me to Chicken-Out and turn me over to the company attorney. I contacted attorney, Ashley Posner and his office phone is 818-474-1901. He refuses to even address the discount written documant. We were scamed! When I demanded the final walk through with The Kichen Connection Owner, they showed up and took over 100 pictures of defects and were embarrestlooking at my wifes horrible vanity and hoorible closet. They do not want to talk and say I only want a monetary settlement. Well at this point of the job, I want all my money back. We hate the 12 items we are stuck with.
The worst problem we encountered is that the Formica on our job costs more that Maple wood? Thats right! Also, The dream master vanity make up area a double sink with a make-up indention in the middle, has two drawers that are under counter and when Sheila pullud them out to show her sister, thay were covered by the granite counter top and therefore worthless. Also, there is 3 inches for Sheilas knees to go under the make up vanity. She can't scoot under the vanity to put her make up on! The Kitchen connection aborted this one too, "No comment and, we can fix that".
When asked who designed this and who installed the hinges and knobs on thse drawers and did not tell or show us the major problem, we were pissed, angered violated, decieved and again cooked by, "The Chicken Connectin". They hid the defects from us and then tried to collect the entire contract fee, inclusdunbg the fraudulant no 25 % discount fee and RUN! I have two voice mail messages from Vlade and Greg asking for paynebt in full and that they are done with the job!
The master closet is another abortion. We have 28 feet of custom formica closet that costs the same per foot as our Maple kithen cabinets? Remember, with The Kitchen Connection, Formica is more expensive than Maple. The master closet double poles were placed so close together that a pair of golf shorts and a suit hanging on the top pole hits the pole below? There is only 24" from top to bottom pole. And Yes, we did give Vlade, Haime, Miguel & Alex, two suits, two slacks and a shirt to make sure the poles in our Dream Walk in Closet were placed right.
We also have one coat of laquer in all of our job except the kitchen where we did get the promised three coats of laquer. Do not look close at the Kitchen though, you will begin to become depressed. The chips in the second class wood, all the knobs are all un-level, screws comming through the attache cabinest, sand in the finish, ect, ect, The rest of the ten items look like Home Depot one coat.
This company does not have any referal base. It works off trade shows, swap meets, fairs and the mom and pop homeowner who work hard and wants a good product and are then conned and swindled by this group with thier promises and, as I too found out, horrible owners and business practices.
I have decided to spend this year informing everyone, and all agencies of this F-Bomb Company.
