I had purchased 2 items on the Internet store called Decorators Model Home (dinning room & an entertainment center) to be exact for the sum of $3,182.00. The items were paid in full through PayPal, by using my AMEX. Keep in mind the date of sale was on May 27. The business is located in Chicago Illinois.
After the promised weeks of delivery (6) the owner never contacted me to inform me that there would be any delays to the estimated time of delivery which was July 7,06. Through endless calls, every week he promised to deliver, even having other contact him on my behalf. The responses were "he's a poor business dealer.
Well, its now September and no furniture. At the end of August I disputed the charges for the entire amount, reported him to the BB Chicago, & the Attorney General Office, by then I found out he had 14 complaints and reports on other websites regarding his business transactions.
For my benefit I tried to reason with him knowing that you can do better by dealing with the roots of the problem. I asked him given the time frame what can he do to deliver since its been three months of empty promises. He contacted me again in Aug. 31st stating that he has to have an acknowledgment agreement whereas I have to agree with the shipment rules. Such as if it is broken he is not responsible for it, and he will not deliver until funds were cleared.
The date before delivery I contacted him to cancel, due to the fact there will be no release of funds to satisfy this purchase & after receiving a letter from the Attorney Generals office stating that they will have to report this to The White Collar Crime Division in Chicago. He had 14 complaints on the BBChicago, and other websites such as EBAY. With a refute to my request, he told the freight company to deliver it anyway and DUMP it on my lawn. Now even more I was more convinced that I did not want to accept anything from this guy.
I send an email stating I refuse the shipment of merchandise ordered in spite of deadlines, which was Sept 2,06, to refund monies owed and to stop harassing me to accept the furniture based on his terms. The outcome as of Sept 12th. He added his own degrading comments to the BB Chicago, and is taking legal actions to not only have me pay, but all the storage costs of having the furniture stored
AMEX is trying to dispute this case and have the monies credited back, but this guy is ALL THE WAY EVIL; has the furniture and wants the money on top of it! He is bad news and needs to be stopped! All i want is my money back!
