Electronics and household app. linkdude240 0

Sony Released OFW (official firmware update) 3.00 in September, causing many PS3 owners like myself to have hardware malfunctions with their bluray disc drivers. Sony wants $150 for disc drive I believe was broken by update

Electronics and household app. Raisinbman 0

Sony claims that my disk drive is broken and requires a $150 repair when I haven't been using it for the last month. I, among other people, believe it's the 3.00 update. See, I don't have a stable internet connection here at campus, so I can't really play Team Fortress 2 or Street Fighter IV. I've ...

Prior to upgrading the Playstation 3 (PS3) to firmware version 3.01 from 2.80, the PS3 performed nominally. It was capable of playing PS3 games, Blu Ray discs, PS2 games. After upgrading to firmware version 3.01, the PS3 would no longer read any disc loaded, no matter game title nor format. It no ...

Newly bought 80GB PS3 failed and Sony wants $150 for a refurbished unit

Electronics and household app. Neema33 0

I smell something fishy about Sony's operations and the way they do business. After paying nearly 500 dollars for a brand new 80GB Playstation3 barely a month ago, who would have known that the machine would stop working? It may have overheated or had a hard drive issue. Who knows? I took good care ...
