DR Power Equipment problems: recalls, repairs and warranty (checked October 16, 2026)
This page covers DR Power Equipment (the DR brand of outdoor power equipment: trimmer mowers, field and brush mowers, leaf vacuums, chipper shredders, log splitters, power wagons and more), which the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) describes as a Vermont company that is a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems Inc. Older archive posts name the business as Country Home Products of Vergennes, Vermont, and CPSC's 2020 notice ties the two names together.
1. Check whether your machine is under a recall. CPSC lists 12 recall announcements naming DR Power from April 2022 to October 2026 (see the recall section). The newest, announced October 8, 2026, covers DR Pilot and Premier trimmer mowers (models T4X1076DMN, T4X1076DMNR, T4X1076DMNSD, T4X1176DMN, T4X1176DMN-1, T4X1176DMNR, TR43076DMN, TR43076DMNR). CPSC tells owners to stop using them and contact DR Power for a free repair kit, or a free installation by an authorized dealer. CPSC lists DR Power's recall contact as 800-854-3194 (8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, Monday to Friday), [email protected], or drpower.com/recalls.
2. Warranty or repair problem. I could not open the U.S. drpower.com site from my location (it redirected to the DR international page), so I do not quote its current warranty or return terms. Keep your model and serial number, the invoice and the dealer's name, and ask DR Power or the dealer for the warranty decision in writing. Many of our archive posts (2001 to 2012) describe disputes over what the warranty covered; those are consumers' accounts.
3. If the company does not respond to a recall. CPSC has a Recall Complaint form for people who believe a company is non-responsive about a recall remedy. For an injury or unsafe product, report at SaferProducts.gov or call CPSC's hotline (800-638-2772). For a billing or card dispute, your card issuer's dispute process is a separate route, and your state attorney general accepts consumer complaints.
CPSC recalls naming DR Power or Country Home Products
These are voluntary recalls announced with CPSC, as listed in CPSC's recall data on 2026-10-16. A recall is not a finding of wrongdoing; the figures below are CPSC's wording of the firm's reports. Recalls are listed newest first and counts are never added together.

CPSC names different roles in different recalls: for several 2022 to 2026 recalls the 'Manufacturer' is Generac Power Systems Inc., of Waukesha, Wisconsin; for the 2025 chainsaw recall (25-323), the 2025 battery-pack recall (25-355) and the October 2026 trimmer-mower recall (27-016) Generac Power Systems Inc. is listed as the 'Importer', and the 25-355 notice names the battery packs' manufacturer as Ningbo New Team Import & Export Co. Ltd. ("Lera"), of China. The 2025 field and brush mower recall (25-140) names as manufacturer 'DR Power Equipment, of South Burlington, Vermont, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems Inc., of Waukesha, Wisconsin', and the 2023 recall (24-022) names 'DR Power Equipment, of South Burlington, Vermont, a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems Inc., of Waukesha, Wisconsin (through January 2018) and Generac Power Systems, Inc., of Waukesha, Wisconsin (after January 2018)'. Each recall page has its own model list, manufacture-date window and remedy: read the page for your model, because an older machine may fall outside a recall's dates.
Contacts differ by notice. CPSC's notices give each recall its own toll-free line, and the email is [email protected] in some notices (27-016, 26-648, 26-166, 25-355, 24-222) and [email protected] in others (25-140, 25-323, 24-022). Use the line and address printed in the notice for your product. Product-specific recall pages named in the notices: drpower.com/LLV-FreeRepairKit (26-166 leaf vacuums), drpower.com/BPC-recall (25-323 chainsaws) and drpower.com/5AHB-recall (25-355 battery packs); the pressure-washer recall 26-494 points to generac.com/about/recalls/pressure-washer.
Who DR Power Equipment is
DR's international page says: "since 1985, we have been manufacturing and selling machines that make outdoor work easier and more enjoyable" and "Based in rural Vermont", with a copyright line "Generac, Inc." (opened 2026-10-16). BBB shows 'DR Power Equipment' as a headquarters at 800 Hinesburg Rd, South Burlington, VT, with BBB-listed phone (802) 877-1200, and BBB's own dates (business started 1984-12-11, incorporated 2006-03-02).
Names. CPSC's 2020 notice calls the firm 'Country Home Products Inc., d/b/a DR Power Equipment'; CPSC notices from 2016 to 2017 and 2002 to 2006 name 'Country Home Products' of Vergennes, Vt., and the 2006 notice covers Neuton cordless lawnmowers sold by that company. CPSC's 2025 notice describes DR Power Equipment as 'a subsidiary of Generac Power Systems Inc., of Waukesha, Wisconsin'. Generac Holdings Inc.'s second-quarter 2015 earnings release (Exhibit 99.1 to its Form 8-K dated 2015-08-06) says: “the Company on August 1, 2015 acquired Country Home Products and its subsidiaries”, which it describes as primarily sold under the DR Power Equipment brand.
How it sells. CPSC's recall pages say products were sold through independent power equipment stores and dealers, Ace, Tractor Supply (TSC), Bomgaars and other stores nationwide and online at drpower.com. Walk-behind trimmer mowers recalled in 2026 sold for between $380 and $550; leaf vacuums for $1,300 to $4,000; tow-behind field and brush mowers for $3,400 to $4,000 (recall 24-022, sold November 2015 through April 2021) and $3,000 to $5,000 (recall 25-140, sold April 2024 through October 2024) (CPSC figures).
Pressure washers. The pressure-washer recalls were announced by Generac Power Systems and cover units sold under the Generac and DR Power names; use Generac's recall page (generac.com, 'Important Recall Information') for them.
Complaint record: our archive, BBB and Trustpilot
Our archive. We link 13 approved archive posts (2001 to 2012) to this page; they name DR Power, DR Equipment, Country Home Products or its Neuton and Whisperlite lines, in Vergennes, Vermont. They are consumers' accounts that we have not verified. Topics (keyword counts, one post can count in several): 9 describe a machine or part failing, including transmissions, bearings, a rubber coupler and a drive that quit; 5 concern warranty coverage or a refused warranty claim; 5 mention returns, refunds or shipping costs; several say phone or chat support did not resolve the issue. No archive post is dated after 2012, so these posts do not describe the current warranty process.

Is DR Power Equipment Legitimate?
DR Power Equipment appears in CPSC's recall records from 2002 under the Country Home Products name and from 2020 as DR Power Equipment, with a South Burlington, Vermont address and, per CPSC, Generac Power Systems Inc. as parent company. BBB lists it as an accredited business with an A+ rating, and also shows 88 complaints in three years. The 12 CPSC recall announcements from 2022 to 2026 show a firm that has run recalls with repair or refund remedies; whether a particular remedy worked for a particular owner is for the owner to confirm with the company. Justia docket searches on 2026-10-16 found a federal product-liability suit filed September 11, 2020 in the Northern District of New York (Starling et al v. Generac Holdings Inc. et al, 6:2020cv01084) naming Country Home Products, Inc. doing business as DR Power Equipment among the defendants; its outcome is not shown on Justia, whose docket lists entries only through October 2020. I did not complete a CourtListener search (rate-limited) or a Vermont attorney general check.
