Avas Flowers: how to cancel, claim a refund or dispute an order (checked October 12, 2026)

Order problems, in the order they usually need to be handled. The company's own pages give these routes: the order and customer-service line is (877) 638-3303 (Contact page); the Terms give (855) 543-6712 for cancellations and say cancellations can also be made online "selecting option #11 entitled 'CANCEL MY ORDER'" on the customer support page; a rush-fee refund request goes through the "RUSH ORDER REQUEST" issue tab on the same page. The two phone numbers differ because the sources differ; both are quoted as the pages show them. On October 12, 2026 the customer support page text read "or give us a call (187) 763-8330" while the link behind that text dialed +1 877-638-3303; the Contact page lists "Customer Service: +1 877-638-3303," which is the number to use.

Cancel. The Terms (section 12) say orders "may be canceled within twenty-four (24) hours after they are placed, except for orders for Same Day Delivery, Next Day Delivery or Holiday Delivery, which may not be canceled." The delivery section adds that Avas "cannot cancel an order that is placed within four (4) days of a holiday" and "cannot issue refunds for orders that are placed within four (4) days of a holiday."

Order not delivered or late. The Terms (section 7) define Non-Delivery as "no delivery attempt was made on the requested delivery date" and say the company will then offer "(i) a re-delivery attempt; (ii) a credit towards the purchase of Products; or (iii) a full refund, at the Customer's option." The same section says "We do not guarantee delivery times," that delays from causes the company lists (for example an incorrect address or recipient unavailability) "will be rescheduled" and "may not be refunded after the initial delivery attempt," and that refunds for orders with a delivery attempt are "less any service fee and/or delivery fee."

Arrangement differs from the picture, or arrives damaged. Section 13 says to "notify us within 24 hours of delivery" and the company "will arrange for: (1) a re-delivery of the product (if available); (2) a re-delivery of a product of equal or greater value; (3) store credit; or (4) a full refund, upon return of the product within seven (7) days by way of florist pick up or a prepaid return." If the recipient cannot provide the arrangement for pick-up, the Terms say the company "will provide you with a courtesy store credit for future use." The Substitution Policy (section 11) lists the substitutions the company permits, such as a similar container or other flowers "of equal or greater value." A practical step is to photograph the delivered item and the card the same day and send the photos with the order number.

If the company does not resolve it. Credit-card holders can dispute a charge with the card issuer; the FTC's page on disputing credit card charges says a billing-error letter must reach the issuer "within 60 days after the first bill with the error was sent to you." Complaints can also be sent to the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs (online form at njconsumeraffairs.gov; the Division's 2021 press release gives 1-800-242-5846 to request a complaint form by mail) and to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. The Terms contain a binding-arbitration and class-action-waiver clause with Delaware law and venue (section 18), summarized in the FAQ below.

New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs consent order (April 29, 2021)

New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs, Consent Order filed April 29, 2021. The order is captioned "In the Matter of FLOWER TECH CENTER, INC. d/b/a AVAS FLOWERS," an administrative action under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act and the Advertising Regulations. It describes the respondent as "a New Jersey Corporation with a main business address of 300 Corporate Drive, Mahwah, New Jersey 07340" and as "an internet-based florist that accepts online and telephone orders directly from Consumers for nationwide delivery."

What the Division alleged (the order's words): that Avas Flowers "Misrepresented the geographic location of Avas Flowers in violation of the Assurance of Voluntary Compliance entered on June 15, 2015"; that when it substituted non-conforming merchandise it "failed to notify Consumers of substitutions and provide Consumers with the option of cancelling the order for a full refund"; and that for non-delivery or late delivery it "failed to offer Consumers either a re-delivery attempt, Merchandise credit, or a full refund, at the Consumer's option." The terms of the 2015 Assurance of Voluntary Compliance were not read for this page.

The company's position. The order records that the respondent "denies having committed any violation of law," and section 8.9 says neither the order nor any provision of it is "an admission by Respondent that any of its acts or practices described in or prohibited by this Consent Order are unlawful or unconscionable or violate the CFA and/or the Advertising Regulations."

Terms. Settlement payment $60,000.00, made up of $46,238.23 in civil penalties, $5,594.27 in reimbursement of the Division's investigative costs and $8,167.50 in attorneys' fees. Complaints already filed with the Division ("Affected Consumers") were referred to binding arbitration by the Division's ADR Unit, and for one year after the effective date the Division forwarded new complaints to the company, which had to respond to each consumer in writing within 30 days. Among the practice requirements: not guaranteeing delivery times where the time is beyond its control (3.3); not auto-populating paid add-ons such as balloons or cards (3.5); itemizing fees and sending itemized invoices (3.6 to 3.8); displaying links to its cancellation, substitution, refund and return policies on the home page, order pages and checkout (3.9); accepting cancellations within 24 hours except same-day, next-day and orders placed within four days of a holiday (3.12); for cancellation requests submitted online under its posted policy, automatically confirming that the request was received and will be reviewed (3.15), and providing a written cancellation confirmation and issuing a refund "within one hour of Respondent's confirmation that the Consumer's cancellation request meets Respondent's posted cancellation Policy" (3.16); offering re-delivery, credit or full refund on non-delivery (3.20); notifying consumers of substitutions and offering cancellation with a full refund (3.21); offering re-delivery, credit or refund for non-conforming or defective merchandise (3.22); disclosing its main business address and not misrepresenting its physical location or same-day delivery availability (3.25, 3.26, 3.28). Sections 8.7 and 8.8 make the order binding on the respondent's owners, officers and successors in interest.

Sources. The signed order (nj.gov PDF) and the Attorney General's April 29, 2021 press release, which says the investigation "was prompted by consumer complaints." The Terms the company publishes today contain delivery, cancellation and refund language that tracks several of these items; whether the company's current practice conforms was not tested for this page. No later New Jersey or other regulator action against the company was identified in the sources checked on October 12, 2026 (New Jersey Attorney General and Division press releases and general web searches); that is a statement about those searches, not about all regulators.

Who operates Avas Flowers and the names it uses

What the company says it is. The Terms (section 1) say "Our official company name is Avas Management Services, Inc., but we operate under the name Avas Flowers" and "We are located in Dover, Delaware, but we operate nationwide by working with local florists." Section 7 says orders are delivered by "our own delivery drivers" in direct delivery zones, by "a local florist" affiliate, or by UPS or FedEx from a physical location or an affiliate, and that "We are proud affiliates of FTD, 800Flowers, and Teleflora." The home page footer says "Delivery will be made by Avas, an affiliate local florist, or an overnight delivery service" and carries "© 2006-2026 Avas Flowers."

Several legal names appear in primary documents. The 2021 New Jersey order names "Flower Tech Center, Inc. d/b/a Avas Flowers" (Mahwah, New Jersey); the BBB profile lists "Flower Tech Center, Inc." as an alternate name and "NSID LLC" as a related business; a 2021 federal complaint was brought by "Avas Sales Lead Services, Inc. d/b/a Avas Flowers," which a declaration recited by the court described as incorporated in Delaware with its principal office in Newark, Delaware; and the Terms published now name Avas Management Services, Inc. The sources checked do not say how these entities relate to one another, so this page treats them as names used for the Avas Flowers business and does not assume a succession.

Addresses. The Terms give 8 The Green #16670, Dover, DE 19901 for copyright notices; BBB lists 50 Tice Blvd, Ste 340, Woodcliff Lake, NJ; Trustpilot's contact box shows 200 Continental Dr, 19713, Newark, United States. Each is labelled by its source and none is described here as a store or workshop.

BBB dates. BBB's page data show business started and incorporated 2011-03-01 and BBB file opened 2012-03-01 for the Woodcliff Lake profile. The site's footer copyright begins in 2006; the two are company and BBB statements and are not reconciled here.

Policy dates. The Terms page does not show one overall revision date in the text read; its Mobile Terms of Service block shows "Last Updated: May 26, 2026." The cancellation, delivery, substitution and refund text quoted on this page is from the Terms as they displayed on October 12, 2026.

Complaint and review figures as displayed on October 12, 2026, and this site's posts

BBB, as displayed on October 12, 2026. Profile for Avas Flowers, 50 Tice Blvd Ste 340, Woodcliff Lake, NJ: not BBB Accredited; rating C. BBB's rating reasons include "1,333 complaint(s) filed against business" and, in BBB's wording, "Business has failed to resolve underlying cause(s) of a pattern of complaints." That sentence is BBB's characterization and is quoted as BBB's, not adopted here. The Complaints tab shows "1,332 total complaints in the last 3 years" and "506 complaints filed in the last 12 months." The status filter on that tab lists "Complaint Answered (928)," "Complaint Resolved (403)" and "Unpursuable (2)" as BBB displays them. The Reviews tab shows 1.04 out of 5 from an average of 2,543 customer reviews. BBB notes that it does not verify information from third parties and that complaint counts should be read with a company's size and transaction volume in mind.

Trustpilot, as displayed on October 12, 2026. 3.2 out of 5 from 27,234 reviews, 10,971 of them in the last 12 months; 51% five-star and 29% one-star. The profile is claimed, the company has replied to 98% of negative reviews, and Trustpilot says the company has not invited customers recently so reviews "may not be representative." Trustpilot also says it does not fact-check reviews.

This site's own archive. usacomplaints.com has 19 approved complaints naming Avas Flowers, all dated between September 2012 and August 2013. Counted by keyword search of the linked posts: 13 mention a missed or late delivery, 13 mention a refund or credit, 11 describe long holds, hang-ups or no response, 7 describe an arrangement that differed from the picture or order, and 7 concern a funeral or sympathy order (posts can fall into several groups). These are one-sided consumer accounts that this site has not verified, they are 13 to 14 years old, and they do not describe the company's current operations. The counts above are never added to the BBB or Trustpilot figures.

Court record: a defamation suit filed by the company (D. Del. 2021 to 2022)

Case brought by the company: Avas Sales Lead Services, Inc. d/b/a Avas Flowers v. John or Jane Doe, D. Del., No. 1:21-cv-01005. The company sued an anonymous person for defamation over a Facebook page that, in the court's description, accused it of defrauding customers and had been operating since 2015 or 2016. The court's report says the complaint was filed on July 9, 2021. On September 15, 2022 Magistrate Judge Fallon denied the company's third motion for leave to subpoena Facebook to identify the defendant, applying the Delaware Cahill standard because the plaintiff had not made the required showing, and recommended dismissal without prejudice. On October 6, 2022 Judge Noreika adopted the recommendation because no objections were filed and dismissed the case without prejudice. This was a case the company filed, not a consumer claim against it, and the ruling concerned whether an anonymous speaker could be unmasked, not whether any consumer complaint was accurate.

Consumer litigation. No consumer class action or other lawsuit against Avas Flowers was identified in the sources checked on October 12, 2026 (the New Jersey order and press release, the District of Delaware docket documents above, and web searches). This does not mean none exists; the Terms' arbitration clause may route individual disputes away from courts.

Is Avas Flowers Legitimate?

Avas Flowers is an operating online flower seller: its website takes orders, its Terms name a corporate entity (Avas Management Services, Inc., Dover, Delaware), it publishes phone numbers, a support form and written delivery, substitution, cancellation and refund policies, and a state regulator has addressed it by name. The record also includes a 2021 New Jersey consent order ($60,000, with the company denying violations), BBB rating C with 1,332 complaints in three years as displayed, and a Trustpilot score of 3.2 from 27,234 reviews with a large share of one-star reviews. Orders for specific-date events such as funerals are the situations in which the published terms (no guaranteed delivery times, limits within four days of a holiday) matter most, so the date and delivery terms should be read before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who operates Avas Flowers?

The Terms of Service say "Our official company name is Avas Management Services, Inc., but we operate under the name Avas Flowers" and that the company is "located in Dover, Delaware." A 2021 New Jersey consent order names "Flower Tech Center, Inc. d/b/a Avas Flowers" and a 2021 federal complaint names "Avas Sales Lead Services, Inc. d/b/a Avas Flowers." The sources checked do not state how these entities relate.

How do I cancel an Avas Flowers order?

The Terms say orders may be canceled within 24 hours after they are placed, except same-day, next-day and holiday-delivery orders, by calling (855) 543-6712 or online through the customer support page and option "CANCEL MY ORDER." The delivery section adds that orders placed within four days of a holiday cannot be canceled or refunded.

What does Avas Flowers say it will do if my order is not delivered?

The Terms define Non-Delivery as no delivery attempt on the requested date and say the company will offer a re-delivery attempt, a credit toward products, or a full refund at the customer's option. They also say delivery times are not guaranteed and that delays from listed causes, such as an incorrect address or recipient unavailability, are rescheduled and may not be refunded after the first attempt.

What can I do if the arrangement looks different from the picture?

The Satisfaction Commitment section says to notify the company within 24 hours of delivery; it then offers re-delivery, re-delivery of equal or greater value, store credit, or a full refund on return of the product within seven days by florist pick-up or prepaid return, with a courtesy store credit if pick-up is not possible. The Substitution Policy lists the substitutions the company allows, such as similar containers or flowers of equal or greater value.

Do the Avas Flowers Terms require arbitration?

Section 18 of the Terms says claims between the customer and Avas Flowers "shall be resolved solely by confidential binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association," with Delaware governing law, arbitration in New Castle County, Delaware, individual (not class) proceedings and each side bearing one half of arbitration fees. The 2021 New Jersey order separately provided arbitration through the Division's ADR Unit for complaints it covered.

What do BBB and Trustpilot show for Avas Flowers?

Avas Flowers has a BBB profile for Woodcliff Lake, NJ and a claimed Trustpilot profile for avasflowers.net, and both were read on October 12, 2026. BBB listed 1,332 complaints over three years and a 1.04 out of 5 customer-review average; Trustpilot listed 3.2 out of 5 across 27,234 reviews, about half of them five-star. They count different things (BBB complaint files and reviews versus Trustpilot reviews) and are not combined here.

How can I dispute an Avas Flowers charge or file a complaint?

The FTC says a credit-card billing-error letter must reach the card issuer within 60 days after the first bill containing the error was sent. Complaints about the company can be filed with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs (njconsumeraffairs.gov) and with the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Keep the order confirmation, the delivery date requested and any call or ticket numbers.
