My husband owns a 2011 Harley Davidson Sportster 48. When we moved to Pensacola just a few months ago we found out there is only one Harley Davidson dealership here. Since going there we have had multiple problems that have not been fixed, including that his left blinker now malfunctions randomly after having the battery replaced. We took it in to have it fixed, and the next day they called and said they did not find any problem.
THEN we were charged 20 bucks just for them to look at it, even though it still malfunctions, just because they couldn't find
the problem. Also at the time they pointed out a damaged part on the bike which of course they claim is our fault and it's a part that would cost $170 to replace.
We have had many problems with this bike anyway and told the dealership we were going to file lemon law and wanted copies of the services done there to present to an attorney.
We were told that they do not give out service records, they only give them to attorneys who request them. (Mind you, we didn't even purchase the bike there so the lemon law should not deter them from giving us our records)
After asking multiple times, I finally talked to the service manager who told me that the person who owns that dealership does not EVER give out service records (except at the time of service) because that's simply his policy. The service manager (who I will not name because I have no problem with him) of course claims it's not because are trying to hide something. He said it's likely that even if we have an attorney contact him, he will tell 'the motor company' to forward the records and won't do it himself. These actions tell us that there issome BAD BUSINESS going on in this shop, obviously they have some serious shady practices to hide if they go to those lengths to hide their records from their customers.
So now, not only are we going to file lemon law on the motorcycle we purchased at a different dealership, we are going to pursue a lawsuit against this man and his store for denying customers the service records that they have every right to.
Anyone who reads this, please comment if you would like to be included in the lawsuit or have also had problems with this dealership. Whatever this man is hiding, we are going to find it!!! Do not trust your bike and business to this dealership! And make sure to get copies of your records EVERY time you go!
