Covert Chevrolet Chevy does not run their 172 Point inspections! Used vehicle buyers beware! More like 86 point inspections!

I currently own a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado that I had purchased Used from Don Hewlett Chevrolet in Georgetown, Texas as of December. I have recently had to do a rear brake shoe and drum change on the vehicle and upon removal of the tire and inspection of the drum (s) I had noticed some factory installed clips on the drum around the studs. These clips came from the factory during assembly.

Chevrolet states in their advertising that they do a 172 point inspection on every one of their used vehicles before they go out onto the used car lot here is proof of this advertisement:

The real question is how did they perform a 172 point inspection with the drum still attached?

After pulling the drum off I had noticed a groove in the wall of the drum. This concerned me because I have had the dealerships in several states inspect the vehicle before this date and all of them had checked this off and never said anything more about the rear brake or the drum. The states I have had this vehicle serviced at were as follows; Colorado, Wyoming, Virginia, and Texas. Each of which passed everything each time I had it looked at. With the exception of what I had brought the vehicle in for, and yes several times it was for a front brake job. They never checked the driver side rear.

It deeply concerns me and I have since lost trust in all Chevrolet dealerships due to the fact that The issue with the drum could have been more serious (i.E. A internally cracked drum) which could have broken as I was driving down the highway and caused a serious accident or injury!

To further the matter more, back in 2011 I had service work performed on my truck because of a valve dropping into the lifter. The report supposedly replaced the Valve cover, The Valves, Lifter, Piston, Crankshaft, arm, etc etc etc I feel that they may have done the work just to pass me out of warranty and now they are trying to blame the issue of my truck burning oil at a steady rate of about 1.5 plus quarts per 3000 mile interval.

I talked to Chevrolet in Detroit and let them know the issues and they keep directing me to District Supervisors whom are doing little to nothing to help solve the issue. The last person I dealt with at Don Hewlett Chevrolet agreed with me through the acceptance of her supervisor to allow me to go back and pull a sample of my engine oil, all of which was pre planned and when I arrived there she passed me up after making me wait 2 hours afterward we went back but after the service worker had pulled the engine oil and had pulled a small water bottles worth of oil and handed it to me all the while this service lady insincerely apologizing, wallowing about how I dont trust Chevy.

Chevy needs to be dealt with and I believe if nothing else we need to get people involved on making sure Chevrolet is doing their job not just here in Texas but everywhere in the USA. This is a serious breach of contract and a violation against
Chevrolet on the grounds of false advertisement as well as faulty work!

We pay these people to do their jobs and under these circumstances they are not performing their jobs. During the time of getting the valve work done I asked the dealership if they could look at the transfer case because I had an issue with the transfer case prior to the valve issue. Chevrolet told me they would but never did. During the last visit they finally looked at the transfer case and told me I had a leaking seal!

Faulty work and bad service is no excuse, Buyer Beware!
