When I took my 2004 Pontiac GrandPrix GTP in for service to Yates Pontiac (I bought the car here) to get my air conditioner fixed because it blow's warm air when its over 95 degrees outside (which is a large amount of the time in Arizona), while at the same time the A/C makes a annoying whining noise. So you get to roost in a 25k car most of the time driving!
Well after Yates Pontiac kept my car for about 7 hours they told me that the A/C system is with in GM specs (which we have all heard this favorite saying from GM before). Then that proceeded to tell me about their test, which showed the A/C vent temperature at 40% humidity at 86 degrees out side was 51 degrees at about 9am in the morning. Then they also said that they could not hear any noise for the A/C.
So first of all the wasted most of the day with my car and never tested the car under the situation that I advised them of. Any they denied to hear a noise that is obvious as daylight. I stated that my last auto would get cold no matter what temperature it's was out side, and it was a GM product. Then they advised me that there is nothing they can do and this is how the A/C works on the Grand Prix.
So warning to all that shop at Yates Pontiac, if you by an auto there don't get it serviced there!
