I went to work for pep-boys back in when i went to work i was told to stay hear you had to sell, well i was a good seller, and that was because the customers could afford the necessary repairs and preventive maintenance, then i was promoted to a svc manager at the ww white store. There the store already had a bad reputation of screwing the customers.
I went in and made a diligent effort to increase sales and regain trust through customer cervice, but when i was told to start hard selling items customers dont need under the "term preventive" maintenance, i couldnt do it, i was even threatened with my job. Well i stuck to my beleifs and i was terminated for balancing tires on my personal vehicle that my store manager said was ok to do. When this was brought to my attention, i offered to pay for it which was only right. Well they accepted payment and fired me. So to me i want to warn 2 types of people 1-consumers, be careful of pepboys there are a lot of stores that are only driven to make sales no matter what it take, and 2- potential employees, no matter what they say make sure you get it in writing, by my not doing that $79.96 cost me $37,000.00
