To MagazineCity.com potential customers: I placed a subscription order for my son in mid- October for a two-year subscription of the Owl Magazine. The charge went through my credit card very promptly. However up to now (mid- January) we have not received any copy of the magazine yet. I sent emails to the company through their customer service website, while received no response but an automatically generated acknowledgement reply. I called to their service number, but they never pick up the phone if you press "2" (which is for people who have ALREADY placed orders); so I had to try "1" (for placing new orders), and a person quickly picked up the phone. After being put on hold for another 10 minutes, I was told the electronic file was misplaced and I should wait for another 8 weeks before possibly seeing my first order. I am certainly hoping that what she said is true and that we can eventually receive our orders. Whatever the final outcome, I cannot recommend this company to anybody. If not a scam, at least it is an extremely poorly managed organization. Magazine lovers should by all means avoid dealing with this company. I know I won't touch it a second time.
