Do not support del's electronics!!! Go to hb stereo instead!!! I am a soldier in the 101st airborne and have been restoring an older vehicle for some time. Prior to joining the service I attended college at K-State Salina. After purchasing nearly $1000 in car stereo equipment from Del's I decided I'd like them to repair the failed cruise control/wiper delay assembly and install a car alarm.
I explained that the old one had failed and a prior owner had replaced the wipers with a simple switch on the dash but that I'd like the assembly to be returned to factory condition. They quoted me an estimate of nearly $700 which I paid before the work was started. I was told it would be done in approximately two weeks. I said "no problem" as I had a motorcycle as an alternate means of transportation.
Three weeks later I checked to see what was going on - no parts I was told, wait another week. I waited two more weeks. Still no parts, wait another week. I waited up to the 2 month mark. "The parts should arrive tomorrow, we'll get on it then."
Indeed they did. I got a call from Del two days later that the work was complete and he went into detail about the cruise. I asked if the cruise/wiper delay was working as factory and HE SAID YES!!!
Unfortunately, this was a blatant lie. The cruise did work (FOR TWO WEEKS!!!) but the wipers did not. Upon returning to the store I was told that the cruise/wipers were seperate items and that they "didn't know that the wipers weren't working" and that I would "have to pay to have them fixed." As you can imagine, I was furious and would have taken Del's to court had not my duty as a servicemember called me out of the area. As it was I bent over and took Del's load of BS where the sun doesn't shine, but am certain to tell everyone I know back in Salina not to support the establishment!
