On Tuesday September 21 my sister was coming home from the store with kids in the car, when her 2004 jeep liberty's steering went out and her engine made a funny noise and died. This was on a bad stretch of busy highway and the cop told her to get it off the road. A man pulled up and was able to jump her car so she could pull over. He also tested the car with a diagnostic meter and said he could not get a signal then looked at the engine. When I got there to pick her up and wait for the tow. Her lights and radio, windows etc still was able to function. We had it towed to a mechanic we use and he called yesterday and said it sounded really bad, and that he does not rip apart and rebuild engines. This car has almost 40,000 miles and she never really uses the 4 wheel drive (maybe 4-5 times in the snow).
