My friend and I drove our cars to the Chili Cookoff and parked in LA Fitness' parking lot. There were no signs on any entrance or exit indicating there was no parking, or that it was a tow-away zone. When we came back, both cars had been towed. The towing receipt indicates that they were towed out of Flamingo Falls at 2200 N. Flamingo Road. LA Fitness is not part of the Flamingo Falls shopping center, and is located at 1900 N. Flamingo Road.
In additioin to towing from a location where they had no jurisdiction, they are violating Florida Statutes by towing the cars more than a 10 mile radius. The mapquest distance shows 18 miles, yet they show the time from tow time to yard time as 10 minutes. Impressive!
When we went to get our cars, they were extremely rude and unprofessional, using abusive language and making me wait an additional 30 minutes after I had paid, signed my form, and confirmed it was my car. They had lost my keys, and kept asking me for them.
I am trying to get a response from the Flamingo Falls Management Company, Developer's Diversified Realty, regarding their contract with All County Towing.in addition, I am trying to find out who authorized the towing. All County Towing says that it was LMSI - Lot Monitoring Service - but they have not responded to any of my calls in over two weeks.
I will be filing legal action against All County Towing for recovery of fees and expenses. Companies like this should not be allowed to be in business.
