I received one of those direct mail flyer inviting me to visit Van Chevrolet. The flyer stated that if I come out and visit the dealership, and test drive a car, I would get a fre oil change and vehicle detailing.
Once I appeared on the lot, I was swarmed by sales men who immediately started to evaluate my vehicle. I told them I was just interested in a test drive, but would not be purchasing that day. Regardless, they still went about doing an appraisal on my vehicle, and came back with a very low ball offer. They offered me $4500 for my vehicle, where at another dealership, I was offered $7000.
They said I could not have the oil change, and vehicle washed until I completed my test drive of one of thiers. They have a very small lot, and not much of a selection, so I decided to take an ugly gray truck out for a spin, and they continued to hound me about purchasing their vehicle, when I told them I would not except that low of a price exchange for my vehicle.
