My daughter and i were new to mesquite texas. My car kept running hot so i started looking for a mechanic to check it out. We did'nt know anyone in the area so i looked in a small booklet advertisement for the area. I ran across unique ad stating they were a honest mechanic shop. So i had to trust someone to get my car fixed. I called and spoke wih MR. Charlie Reeves on JANUARY 30. I then drove my car over to his shop. When i arrived Ms. Smith his secretary was there. She already knew who i was, so she told the mechanic what said was going on with my car. I was told a few months back i had a leak in my radiator. The mechanic (white guy cant remember his name) confirmed that i did and then said i also neede a new fuel injector. But afte looking said my wires had been chewed up. He said i must have rats at my house. I said no i dont then he went on to say The wires in my fuel injector needed to be rewired. So i sat in there office from 9 that morning to 4 in the evening waiting for the radiotor to be delivered and for the wires to be repaired. This was one of the coldest days in texas and ms. Smith was upset saying the other mechanic whom the othe gu left to finish the job was taking to long cause she needed t leave cause she was moving into a new place. Ms. Smith also stated that she did not know why they left this mechanic (george) to do the job he dont know what he's doing. When he finally finished i payed Ms. Smith 473.00 cash! (they only had a space heater in the office and ms. Smith left after that). IIgot in turned my car on and my heat was not working. It was working when i drove it over there. So george tryed to see hatwas going on he then tells me i need a new thermostat but he cant get one until monday and for me to bring my car back and he would put it on. George then says he took the old one out and he glued the hose to the part where the thermostat went. I drove my car home. I went to the gas station across from my daughters apartment and my car was overheating again and white smoke was everywhere coming out of my tail pipe and under the hood. I went back across the street to the apartment after my car cooled down. I called MR. Reeves told him what was going on he told me he would tow it back to the shop on monday. The car was towed on monday and i was then towed my head gaskets were blown and needed to be replaced. Mr. Reeves then ask me was the car paid for and how much i owed on the car. Which i thought was usual. He told me the car would be ready by friday. I was told it would cost 950.00. I told him at that point i only had 600. And could i set up payment plans. He then stated we could work something out. He then tells me i could do some work for him like getting my friends and family to come in for a 12.00 oil change. I told him i didnt know that many people in texas. He calls me the next day and says i need a tune up also. I told him no i had just had a tuneup a month before. After thisi didnt hear from him. I kept calling every week to see when my car would be ready. He would tell me by the end of the week or the next week. They stop answering my phone calls and would not return my calls or i was told he would call me right back. This went on for the month of febuary. I would call from a different number and they would wnswer right away. Thenwould start the same lying over agin. I cryed, i pleaded why are you doing this to me. This car was my onlt transpotation and we had no way to get around to look for work or anything. Mr. Reeves convinced me to give him another 400.00 for a deposit. He drove over to my place to get it and con me out of another 20. To speed up service on my head casket repair. I waited 2 days and called again I was then told the car had been repaired and the head were to tight and they were going to have to relieve the pressure on them and he would call me then. I waited another day and then ask my ex - husband to take me over to Mr. Reeves shop. We pull up and get out and my car is blocked in by another car. Iask the mechanic that was riding on some sort of lawn mower not working on any car was my car ready? He says no we dont have the parts for your car yet? I then ask for MR. Reeves we go into the office and Mr. Reeves says dont worry we will have it ready tommorow for sure. We leave and the games start all over again. Avoiding my phone calls. I have no way out there and at tis point i cant sleep becausemy daughter and her 1 year old son and myself are now stranded. We spend money at the gas station for food and pampers. We have to call a cab to take my grand sonto the emergency room after he got sick. I keep calling. The first or second week of march i call and get an answer i am then told by Ms. Smith they are working on my car and they need 500 more dollars and i need to pay my bill. She stated they i did not qulify for financing of any kind. I TOLD HER i had spoke with Mr. Reeves about it. Ms. Smith does not know what i qualify for being that i never filled out any paperwork for financing. Not to mention this is week 6 and they tell me they are workingon mycar not that it is ready. But they are working on it. It is the first of APRIL AND I STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN A CALL OR ANYTHING! I have been without my car 2months now, does it take that long to fix a car and why do they keep askng for more money? What is going on with these people and why ar tey allowed to prey on others. PLEASE HELP I am still without my car and i cant find work without it. I have nomore moneyand i need help. I told Mr. Reeves GOD DONT LIKE ULGY and i hope he has to pay for his ulgyiness.
