JD Byrider
DISHONEST company, lied to us, OVERCHARGED us, and MISLED us, and employs an arrogant, ignorant ASS for a bank manage

Janet and Jerry purchased a '94 Ford Tempo from the Lafayette, IN -JDBYRIDER on 1/11/01. Total price was 11,027.50, w / 1,000 down. Payments were 234. A month. An alottment was set up through Jerry's military retirement check.

In less than a month, Janet, the primary driver, had been stranded on the roadside no less than FOUR times, with a 3 and 4 year old in tow, and SEVERAL inches of snow and ice on the roads. JDByrider associates assured Janet and Jerry that since they had purchased the 899. EXTENDED warranty, they would do a complete check on the vehicle. After almost 10 days, the vehicle was returned "good as new".

Less than a month later, Janet's best friend of 38 years died. Janet and the '94 Tempo ATTEMPTED to make the 1100 mile trip from IN to GA. The "alternator" failed, Janet was stranded in Kentucky for 2 days. Her friends funeral was postponed until her arrival. Janet returned to IN, promptly went to the LAFAYETTE, IN JDBYRIDER dealership, protested her dissatisfaction w / the vehicle, demanded a trade. The manager, claimed the vehicle would have to be paid on for at LEAST a year b/4 a trade could be arranged.

The vehicle continued to leave Janet stranded on numerous other occasions, and for 13 months the ON TIME EVERY TIME payments ALSO continued. Janet and Jerry returned to the dealership, confident that their excellent payment record would enable them to rid themselves of the vehicle. They were promptly told they "owed too much on the vehicle", and would "need to pay on it for at least TWO years before a trade could be considered.

Monthly payments on time, EVERY time continued, and so did vehicle failure... For another 16 months... in the interum, Janet was forced to return to GA 2 more times. BOTH times, Janet was stranded on I-65,400 miles from IN and 600 miles from GA.

Jerry returns to the dealership in late June, after 27 on time EVERY time payments, to ONCE AGAIN, trade out the 94 Tempo. The main reason, Janet's 90 y/o mother had been hospitalized and on life support for almost 2 months, Janet was anxious of her mothers' poor health and age, and certain of another impending trip to GA.

Jerry and JDByrider salesmen, RANDY and RENE, work out technicalities. Jerry's 8 y/o son is w / his dad at that time. Janet returns later in the day to test drive a 1999 Ford Contour. Janet returns the following day w / pay check stubs, utility bills, and references... Also mentioning that there is another (smaller) vehicle on the lot, not there the day before, that she possibly would be more comfortable driving... Rene' replies that at least THIRTY payments are required before a car can be traded in, Janet's blood pressure rises, Rene' immediately retreats to an office.

Several minutes later the "bank manager" appears.

Following is the exact conversation between janet and the (ahem) bank manager: (bm=bank manager... J=janet)

BM= you and your husband are excellent customers, however, you have not paid enough down on your current vehicle in order for us to be able to accept it as a trade.

J= HUH? We were told that wee had to pay for 12 months, then for 24 months... We did...

BM= yes, I see that, your payments record has been excellent, we have no problem with that.

J= then WHAT is the problem?

BM= you still owe too much on the current vehicle, BUT, we would be willing to put you in ANOTHER vehicle, since you are such EXCELLENT customers

J= another vehicle? You mean keep the 94 Tempo and buy another?

BM= you qualify for SEVERAL vehicles on our lot

J= meaning I would owe you TWO car payments? Thats' ridiculous, why would I want to do that?

BM - well, you don't really have a CHOICE, just because you don't LIKE what you purchased, doesn't mean you don't have to pay for it...

J= YES, I do have a choice, I will stop the alottment and you can expect your payment any time I decide to send it!

Bm= do you think telling me that will make me change my mind? Because it won't.

J= Look, My husband was in here earlier and he was under the inpression this had all already been worked out.

BM= well, he didn't talk to ME - who did he talk to?

J= (turning to her 8 y/o son, who was present EARLIER in the day)
Casey, who did ya'll talk to, do you know?

BM= interupts... I'm asking YOU questions and you are turning to a KID for the answers...

J= (picking up her documents from the desk) stands up, turns to children, and states "LETS GO", and they immediately leave the office.

Jerry returned the following morning, agreed to have the vehicle "checked out" by the service department on Tuesday.

Janet wants to shove the vehiclew you-know-where... SPECIFICALLY, the bald red headed ass that calls himself a bank manager...

Jerry says we'll agree to them checking it out... GEE, JERRY, what POSSIBLY could be the outcome whe THEIR vehicle is checked by THEIR maintanance department.

I'm certain of the outcome, they will "look over the vehicle", claim it is in good condition, and that THEY would drive it to GA on a moments notice, of course, ANYTHING can happen w/a used car, but as far as THEY can see, it is surely good to go.

Anyway, the main purpose of this post was to let potential buyers KNOW that even if you DO make your payments on time for as many as 28 months... Those folks at JDByrider could casre less. It is NOT about rebuilding your credit... We;ve DONE that... It's ALL about shoddy salesman, LYING salesman, IGNORANT DEMEANING salesman who call themselves BANK MANAGERS, and dumping lemon cars on any poor sucker stupid enough to believe their sales tactics and that they actually DO have a chance to rebuild their credit by purchasing a car from them.
