On Monday, labor day morning before 7am my car was towed from the Stone Ridge Apartments. I parked there briefly to visit a friend who lives at the complex. We decide to go out to breakfast, when walked outside to find my car gone. A resident there told me the wrecker truck towed it.
I call the wrecker service, they immediately told me basically it's nothing they can do. That I had to call the auto storage company, pay $191.39 to get my car back. This is a rip off! What's the apartment complex's interest in the quick cash scam?
The wrecker service is sitting there waiting for you to literally turn back, walk away from your car, go inside and then they take your vehicle. They are purposely targeting guests and some residents with outlandish fees to make a profit. This often puts the auto owner in a financial bind and causes physical and mental stress as well.
I also believe that ther business practices are very malicious in character. Everything is done so meticulously without warning. This company that preys on already financially challenged residents and their family and friends, not on the unwelcomed menaces.
Once they take your car, you must pay or lose your vehicle! They stored my car almost three hours and cost me nearly $200. I think it's theft! It's outrageous!
