I recently had the unfortunate pleasure of having my car towed by this company from the Avenue One visitor parking structure in Irvine, CA. When I arrived at the gate I had to wait 20 minutes before they would let my friend and I inside to pay our bill and pick up our vehicle in the middle of the street at 2am. When they finally were going to let me in they would only let me in so I told the person (Tatiana) that we were going to split the bill and that's why we both wanted to come in. Finally after waiting even longer she let us in. We went to pay and she made the security "kid" escort me to my car to get my registration. My car was unlocked and I asked him if someone went inside and he replied, "We don't go in the cars." I told him immediately my sunglasses were missing and he told me he didn't know where they were and to tell the girl up front.
I went back up front and the girl ran the $265 bill (outrageous?!) on my card only even though we had told her we were going to split the fee AND handed her two credit cards. She then said, "We don't do that." [The irony being that the only reason she let both of us in was because we wanted to pay on two cards, come on now.] I asked for her manager's name at this point because nobody of any supervisor status was on duty and she wouldn't give it to me. I asked to have a card of the manager or supervisor and she said they have none and instead handed me a generic card with no names on it.By this time my car was now pulled up and I got back into my car and my friend into his. Almost magically... My sunglasses were now sitting on my seat — funny how that works out.
So the next morning my other friend calls me and his car was towed from the SAME visitor parking center. He didn't get back to where his car was supposed to be until the next morning, went to get his car, and now he had to pay $205. Why would it be cheaper to pick up a car that stayed over night then someone who picked it up immediately?
The prices are bogus and inconsistent and the staff there is absolutely horrific. I hope nobody here has to go through the joke of a business that To and Mo Company is but in the end I guess there's no choice in the matter because one of the largest and wealthiest companis (Irvine Company) insists on using the shadiest and cheapest towing companies around — I guess that's why they have so much money.
