We are so ashamed to be treated this way

I have not been able to purchase a new vehicle since 2003. That vehicle was my (now) x-wife. After this divorce I was left without any $ except my social security check.

I became interested in Central KIA Irving and discussed my situation with a sales mgr named Tim. After a week or so I was told I would need a co-signer in order to purchase this Sorento. I knew I had to get things done before the end of Feb due to the $5k rebate expired then. I received a phone call from a sales mgr at the Lewisville location asking me if I had found any way to purchase this vehicle. I told him no, and he asked if I knew anyone to co-sign with me. I stated where would he suggest I look due to the fact I am disabled and 69 yr of age. He asked if they paid $250, $500, $1k would that help. I stated I don't know and dropped it.

I have met some friends at the Azle Senior Citizens Center and we were talking one evening. I mentioned this fellow offering up to $1k for a co-signer. This friend stated he would co-sign for me if they would pay him $1k. I called the Irving store and talked to Tim again, he took down the info on my friend and called me back later and told me they could do this..

Then later Tim from Lewisville called and asked if I wanted to come in to get this new vehicle. After awhile Tim called (Irving) and stated when would I like to come in, he stated they had the deal ready to complete. I told him I could be within an hour, he said be here at or before 3 pm and complete the deal.

Then a fellow named Garcia called me and told he had this approved at $340 per month. I stated I was to be there by 3pm. Then Tim from Lewisville called me again about coming in, I asked him if a mr Garcia was there and he stated yes he is here. So I drove to the Lewisville store, when arriving they did not know about the appointment at 3pm. I became frustrated and told my friend to come on and we would leave that location.

I left that office and while walking towards the front door a fellow named Travis met me and stated to come to his office. He stated that he would not allow anyone leave without purchasing a new vehicle. Travis was very good at getting us to believe him. I explained to Travis exactly what I had been through, then he excused himself and came back with the info on me and my friend.

Travis told me they only had two Sorento's left, and they were EX models. I told him I could not afford any more expensive vehicle than I had been looking at. At that point Travis stated if he could discount that car so as the payments would be in the ballpari with the LX version, would I take that one. I stated I guess we would do that, he came back and stated he could make the payments at $389-$399 per month.

Then he stated that in order to get these payments there they would have to place the note in my co-signers name, just for 6 months. He stated after 6 payments, he would do a refinance and get the note in my name. While in the F&I office, I mentioned this to the F&I guy and he stated I had better get that in writing. At that point we should have walked out and not signed anything. I called Travis and asked him to put his promise of refinance in writing and send to me. He refused and stated all he could do would assist in a refinance, but that was all he could do.

We did not do that, they delivered the vehicle without an antenna for the radio. I called Travis the next day and he told me thay would mail an anternna that day. As of today they state they have shipped me 3 antennas, I stated he was not shipping them to my address because I have not received any. From that point Travis refuses to accept calls from me. My friend has called Travis several times about where is his check, Travis also tells him to wait for 30min and he will call him back with the info.

I have called Terrie at KIA consumer relations and explained all to her. She called the dealership and after a couple days she called me and explained she had discussed this with Bobby Soto, the new gen mgr, and Mr Soto will call me. At a late time that day Mr Soto did attempt to call me, since I had my phone already on the charger, I missed the call, he did leave a voice mail.

On the way to a Dr appt the next morning, I called Mr Soto and he stated he was getting ready for work and would call me in about 45min. I arrived home about two hours later and no calls, I called and was told Mr Soto was not available. I called back and did talk to Travis, he stated he did ship an antenna again and I should have it by now. I told him I had not received any antenna period. Travis stated he would get the tracking # from his parts dept and call me back. That was over an hour ago and no call. I have called mr Soto, and was informed he was no available for the rest of the day.

I have called my Ins co and have figured out how I can place that vehicle on my policy. I feel so badly for my friend being taken for a ride by Travis promises. At least there are two of us that knows what and who said etc.
I am looking for help almost anywhere I can, so for nothing.
