Lost my transaction papers

My husband and I bought a 2009 Chevy Equinox from the Huntley Chevy dealer in February. We paid cash for the car.
We traded in a 1996 Chevy van.

In July I tried to apply for my 2009 vehicle sticker and the State of Illinois had no record of my new car and returned my papers saying my 96 van needed an emission test.

We went back to the chevy dealer and found out our transaction papers had been put in a drawer someplace and forgotten about.

We have been trying since late July to straighten out this mess and in the meantime our sticker has expired and the chevy dealer is not much help.
When we go there to ask questions the female office manager has a very bad attitute and not much gets done.

I will never recommend these people to anyone or wish the nightmare they have put us through to anyone.
