Viking Dodge
As I read these reports and updates, I can't help but wonder

I wonder why there are no rebuttals from the management or employees of Viking Dodge. If you are a legitimate entity why wouldn't you spend a moment or two to file rebuttals and try to explain your side of the story, offer evidence to contradict the charges, or in some other manner defend your good name (if it is good that is)?

This story has had me watching it for several years now and I have added my own experience to the pages as well. I watch and marvel at the staying power of the owner of the station wagon as he sits on the street hour after hour and wonder why they wouldn't just buy him off instead of suing him? What madness on their part, fueling new posts and adding drama to a situation.

As I speak with other friends, and acquaintances in the area I hear the same stories of bait and switch - one friend had it happen twice! She went back in to buy a new car after the new signs were posted stating new management. Why? Because she loves Dodges! She was there on a Saturday evening, found a car, negotiated the right price, the dealership arranged for financing - pending bank approval (a mere formality with her credit now repaired) signed all the paperwork and took delivery.

Sounds good, right? Wrong. The payment book came in from a different bank with a much higher rate and she was told that her credit prevented her from getting the original rate from the original financing company. Since she signed the papers contingent on getting the approval and supposedly didn't the dealer had the right to seek alternative financing and change the contract terms. I recetly bought a new car as well, had the same paperwork, difference is; when the dealer is standup, you get the original rate and contract terms.

Well in hindsight, she called the original financing company to inquire as to why she was not approved. They have no record of her paperwork being submitted, and no rejection notice. She arranged for a loan with them, had them pay off the car and now she's happy with the payments she expected. One problem, Viking called and said since they lost the financing commission she owed them almost $2,000 in lost fees and commissions. Through her lawyer, she told them to sue her. Since getting her lawyer involved, she hasn't heard a peep from Viking.

So how do you protect yourself from these guys? Why do people go there, get pressured and sign papers which leave them open to later issues? I cannot understand why these guys are still allowed a license to operate, not can I understand why Dodge has not revoked their franchise.
