We stopped at S P Citco station in Port Orange, Florida to put 20.00 in gas in our car. My husband went inside to prepay (the pumps did not allow us to pay with our debt card). After my husband prepaid he came back outside and the pump kept reading, "Please Wait", with all zeros for the amount and all zeros for the gallons.
After waiting a few minutes for the lady to turn our gas on, my husband went back inside because the pump wouldn't pump. She tells him that it should be on and working so he comes back out to the car and stands there for a moment. The pump still didn't pump any gas. He gets upset and goes back into the convenience store to talk to the lady about why the pump isn't working. The lady working states that he already got his gas, and my husband told her that he hadn't been able to get any gas at all.
We called an officer to come out to the station. He verified that we had in fact prepaid for gas. The lady inside said that it was not her problem, and the officer told us there was nothing we could do. Our money was gone.
I will be contacting other resources in order to stop these gas stations (specifically this one) from taking money from those who prepay for gas. Thank God we had more money and were able to get back home!
