Cars 101, bunnin Auto Group, bunnin Gmc... Thievery, trickery, racism, abusive and illegal employment and business practices. Oxnard, Ventura California

First of all, I would like to start by saying I'm an ex-employee of Bunnin Auto Group, owned by Leo Bunnin, of Spanish Hills, CA. Bunnin Auto Group operates Cars 101, Bunnin Buick GMC, and Saturn of Oxnard. I would also like to state that I'm not posting this as a revenge act or anything like that. I worked for this "company", if you can call it that, at the Cars 101 location, in Oxnard, for 3 months. That was all I could take. As a customer, you should STAY AWAY from any auto dealership in the Bunnin Auto Group, specially Cars 101. Here is, from personal experience, how a typical "car deal" goes. It may seem unbelievable, but really, it is all true! First of all, about a dozen salesmen will be waiting at the entrance of the dealership, waiting for the next victim, i mean, customer, to show up. Then, after the initial 'contact', the salesman takes the customer for a tour of the inventory, quoting prices that are encoded on little stickers on the windshield of the vehicles. As a norm, since the customer cannot easily decipher the price code, the salesman 'packs' the price a couple of grand higher than it actually is. If actual encoded price of the vehicle is, say, $12995, he will tell you it's $14995. Then, after the test drive, comes the 'write-up'. He sits you down, fills out your credit application, and fills out the 'four-square', which is the deal work sheet. He tries to get as moch money down from you as possible, saying that banks like to see 1/3 down payment, which is a blatant lie. If you have a trade in, they tell you it's basically worthless, no matter what vehicle, and in what condition. If you owe any money, they usually tell you to do a "voluntary surrender" of the vehicle, which, according to them, is not a repo. "Don't worry about it, we will call the bank and have them pick it up for you, just leave the keys with us"."Your credit will be fine". Unknown to you is the fact that the salesmen will go out and party with your trade in, then most likely take out the nice stereo, and then abandon it in some location away from the dealership, where it is found, three or four months and payments later, and 'repoed' by the bank. Needless to say, your credit is now completely destroyed. You will now be lucky to get approved for a pre-paid credit card ever again, let alone a loan, anywhere. Now, when it comes to car loans at Cars 101, a fiend in human form that goes by the name of Oscar Gutierrez, the General Sales Manager, will write your loan at a rate at least two or three percentage points over what the bank's actual rate is for your credit rating. This is called 'points', and the difference is paid by the bank to Oscar Gutierrez, who then kicks a portion 'upstairs'. Yes, i know just like the mob. For example, if your APR should be 12.9%, Oscar will write your loan at15.9%. The difference he collects from the bank. He just made 3 points on you. On a 72 month loan, that can be quite a good amount. And you, of course, get royally shafted. Also, the inside jargon at Cars 101, as well as the whole Bunnin organization, in referring to customers is, as you can imagine, very racist and discriminatory. Hispanics and African Americans are all reffered to by racial terms. If your credit file is not perfect, you are a credit criminal, or a 'roach'. As far as working for them, as I unfortunately did, if you don't make any sales, you fill in a time card. When you go turn it in for you minimum wage, which is all they pay, they treat you like a complete loser, and imply that if you cash your hourly check you will get fired. There are no such things as meal periods or breaks, or overtime pay. Leo Bunnin, the owner, placates the whole place with life sized posters of himself, the great "benefactor", who donates to charity and loves the boy scouts. Meanwhile, in the real world, he is ripping people off and braking every labor law and statute there is. Needless to say, he and his cohorts have all gotten very rich by conducting business in the dark side. It never ceases to amaze me how they have been in "business"so long, without ever getting caught. Perhaps there is just no will on the part of, say, the D. A's office to ever do anything. They do pay a lot of sales tax...
