Held deposit after returning a car that the check engine light came on 2 days after having! Ripoff

I was attempting to buy a 2006 Jetta from this dealership. After 2 days the check engine light had came on. I returned the car to find out a week later that I will not be getting my deposit back.

What a joke. Looks like this happens alot. If anyone has any ideas to help me get it back let me know.
