New Deal Used Cars
Rip Off Artists

I bought a car a New Deal Used Cars. I am so sorry that I did.

First of all, they kept telling me that it was 'the best car on the lot'."If you want a car to get your kids to school and be reliable, this is it."

The car is a 1994 Taurus. The price was $5995. Oh, but they did me a BIG favor, they brought it down to $3995. Still well over Blue Book price, which I didn't know until I got home and checked on it. That didn't include tax and title. I put $1500 down on this piece of crap. Plus tax and title cost.

Almost as soon as I drove the car off the lot, I started having problems. The transmission was slipping. 3 days later the left blinker light went out. The cruise control doesn't work. The back hatch window is broke and won't latch. The rear seat belts we cut out of the car. The rear wiper has no blade.

I went back a few days later and told them that I wasn't happy. They said, "Did you see that 'As Is' sticker in the window? You bought it as is." I went to pay the tax on it and said that if I knew things were going to be like this, I would have taken my 3 legal days to cancel a contract and done so. The woman said, "Oh no, you don't have 3 days to cancel." I thought that you have 3 days to cancel a contract, no matter what it is.

Now it's been about a month since I bought it. The transmission is slipping really bad, the valves are pinging, and the brakes are squealing. The steering wheel is wobbling when I drive and it jerks when I try and turn.

This is not a safe car. And I'm supposed to drive my child around in this? Every day when I get out of the car, my neck muscles are tensed up. This car is not going to last till it's first payment is made.

My advice to anyone is this. Do not buy a car here. The salesmen are extremely nice, which should have tipped me off. They will promise you the moon and the stars just to get you to buy one of their pieces of potential poison.
