Complaint / Review
Daimler Chrysler - Roberson Motors
2007 Wrangler 4-door Defect ripoff Salem Oregon

Daimler Chrysler has sent out many first run 4-door wranglers with leaky tops. I have not seen a recall or anything about it. If you search jeep forums or ask people that have purchased them you will find this as true.

I happen to be an owner of such a vehicle. I purchased my vehicle and had it for 12 days before returning it on November 03, with a severly leaky top. Today (12-04-06) the vehicle still sits at the dealer with no resolve.

I have contacted Daimlers customer service and have been sent back to the dealer everytime. We have had 11-12" of rain in Oregon for the month of November. This vehicle has been outside soaking up rain all this time.

The dealer says they can not authorize a repurchase, and the manufacturer (Daimler Chrysler) continues to send me back to the dealer.

The dealer has replaced the seals, used some sort of liquid gasket, bolstered the existing door rubber, adjusted the top, adjusted the doors, replaced the door rubber, and bolstered the new door rubber. None of this has worked.By the way, bolstering is padding the gaskets. Is this a true manufacturers fix?

I filed a complaint with the Oregon Attorney Generals office. Who knows where that went. I finally talked to an attorney who told me I had to call a number in my owners manual to request arbitration. I went to the dealer, retrieved the owners manual from the vehicle and there was nothing about Oregon in the manual other than the customer service number.

Well, these are the people who continually send me back to the dealer. I called anyway and was told we do not have arbitration in Oregon. Well I read the Oregon Lemon Law statute and it states that you have to have this under #4. So how in the heck do you handle this.

I thought there were consumer protection laws. A vehicle is the second most expensive item a person will purchase in their life. It seems if you get a lemon your on your own to battle a multi-billion dollar company with the extra three bucks you have left at the end of the month.

If you have purchased one of these $30k pasta strainers please notify everyone you can think of. Just maybe it will help the rest of us.

If you plan on purhcasing a new jeep wrangler, ask for a water test before you leave with the vehicle. Buyer beware.

Soaked in Oregon
