This is to warn all Austin area buyers and those of you looking for work to STAY AWAY from DriveTime.
I have recently left this company due to personal conflict and for having too much of a heart to have to lie to potential customers. These cars are CRAP! Plain and simple. DriveTime will buy a shit car at auction for $2 - $4,000. Wash them, polish them, spray the * out of them with that new car scent and put them on their lots and sell them for $12 - $18,000. I have personally sold cars to people that didn't even make it to their homes after purchasing. The trick is our managers' urge us to take customer trade vehicles and use them towards our down payments. This way even if OUR car dies the customer has no other option but to pay for repairs. Their cars that they traded in will be DUMPED at auction that same weekend. DriveTime now offers a 6,000-mile warranty. Big deal! If you buy a car today and the transmission dies tomorrow, You will have to pay $40 just to have their mechanics look at the vehicle and if it takes days and days to fix you are out of luck. If you are going to need a rental then you are responsible for paying for it. The other thing is if you buy a car from DriveTimes Mexican drug dealing South Austin location and it breaks down on you, you will need to have it towed all the way to the Round Rock location 40 minutes away and deal with a monster of a man named Stuart. If you are lucky he will lie through his teeth and maybe even make you feel like a piece of garbage. Sometimes I would sit at my desk and wonder how this company is legal. DriveTime *s people. Overpriced vehicles, 25% interest rates, $400 monthly payments and sometimes you will even get a stolen registration sticker on your new car! Watch out for the big boss of the south Austin location. His name is Mike H. This guy talks down to everybody. If you buy a car and it breaks down the first day and you go back to complain, this guy will tell you to go and f* yourself. He once made a customer so mad that she came back with friends that wanted to fight. He hid in his little office until the police arrived. He is one of those big macho guys that never made it as a pro football player so now he works out 10 times a day and talks shit to people. He is a tough guy and he will verbally run you into the ground if you have an issue with the vehicle that you just purchased then after you leave he will laugh about how he made you cry. Then there is his bumbling idiot of a sidekick Jaime (HY-ME). I dont know how this guy made it this far in life. All he does is lie, cheat and steal. He tries so hard to have sex with the good looking customers but can only get his female sales asst. That works under him. That's all from me. I am so glad that I quit this bull* company and I am very happy with my current job. Maybe if enough people speak up DriveTime will be shut down so they can re-open with a new name again!
