On April 27 at 9:21 am Pacific time, I was on my way to work and stopped at the Maverick fuel station at 4206 E. Day MT Spokane road, Mead, WA 99021 to fill my 2004 F-250 diesel truck. I filled my truck with diesel and headed to work. I was at work for 4 hours and then headed home, about 15 miles. As soon as I pulled into my driveway my motor seized up. I recently had my truck serviced and everything was running in tip top shape! I love my truck!!
When my motor seized, thankfully in my driveway, I immediately shut her off and tried to troubleshoot with a mechanic at Ford over the phone. The mechanic said it was a fuel related issue. I said I had just filled it up with 25 gallons at 2.27 a gallon. He said it sounds like you have bad diesel. So I hung up with him and called Maverick. I spoke to the shift supervisor and said my motor seized after my fill up at your station. I was insulted and hung up on, which really fired me up!! I just wanted to know when their ground tanks had been tested and filled up. She refused to talk to me.
My next call was to their headquarters in Utah. They were helpful... kind of. I was told I had to pay for the repairs and then maybe they would take care of it, and that it would be best if I called my auto insurance. So I called my auto insurance and they got my truck towed to a shop and had it diagnosed. The finding shocked me... The shop said I have gasoline in my diesel and potentially have to replace my motor. Thankfully my auto insurance company is going to cover it, but I do not think they should be the responsible party.
Maverick should be replacing my motor. My receipt says diesel and I had gasoline in it. Needless to say, I will not be purchasing any fuel there.
