I was driver for JBHUNT trucking company.in mid december I got message in computer: Call ASAP dispatch. Someone call about my driving: speedeing, tailgating. JBHUNT missing basic info: where=milemaker, exit#. I picked up ld in SE ny upstate travel I-81 south trouth Wilkes-Barre, PA. There is speed limit 55mph. There passed me Subaru Forester NY license plate. (in 55 limit zone).
There was no trafic, as I geting into 65speed limit zone Subaru was closer and closer. (JBHUNT trucks got governed trucks 62mph) Typical driving for this brand (Subaru)=dont pay attention, didn't see sign 65mph speed limit. Driver did little bit speeding and we get behind another Subaru Forester wth Penn LP. I put my left turn signal on in a moment Subaru with NY LP moved into left lane and blocked my way into left lane so I had tay in right lane (downhill, 78000 pounds heavy truck) sharp stepping on brakes and getting on rear Subaru with Penn LP. Finaly Subaru with NY LP passed Subaru with Penn LP and moved into right lane.
I passed both of them, my truck-weigh get speed downhill so i could run 65-67 at bottom of hill and I safe moved into right lane with abbout one length of TT (60") space for Subaru with NY LP. But what happend next is typical for JBHUNT trucks.in this part of Penn roads goes up and down hills. As I get into right lane started uphill. My speed was rapidly going down, thanx governed trucks at 62mph. Until this speed diesel is not going into engine. Thanx my weight my speed drop in couple tens of feet to 50 mph. Both Subarus pessed me again. Thats is legal procedure. But they called about my unsafe practices. I dont think and feel I did somethin unsafe. Trucks speed is dropping and its regular and everyone knows it.
If driver who call just said I tailgated him, its understandeable, but speeding? JBHUNT IN 65 zone? Generally. Speeding guys are never my problem on road. If someone run 160mph. What is my problem? No problem! For 1-3 second when he pass me?
This call for me its a problem, because they put it on my driving record and they fired me, including this reasson, but there was totally diferent reason: Im not a man for this brainwashing machinemakers: JBHUNT Schneider, Swift, Werner... Nothing change on fact, taht who called forgot give exact location and JBHUNT didnt check over officials if there can theirs truck do speeding. I think federal government must take control over drivers licences and drivers education and need to teach ALL drivers about how to driving arround trucks: wide turns, braking distance, blind spot, dropping speed...
