We visited a Burger King in Alamo, Tx. Near San Juan. We watched the food preparers handling food with their hands, no gloves. They were putting hamburgers together with tomatoes and lettuce, touching everything with their hands. We saw them go from one are to another without washing their hands, even after handling money. As a health care provider, you may well imagine how we will discuss this example in our health prevention talks and teaching in our clinics. The public should be aware of this health hazard, and taught to avoid the establishments that don't wear gloves, and don't wash their hands.
