Safeway advertises many popular products as buy one get one free, as well as buy "X" # for "Y"$. A trusting person would assume that if one only needed a single of any of these items, they would get the pro-rated discount price. This however is not the case. For the buy one get one free offer, if you only want a single item you will be charged double the amount (i.E., not 1/2 the buy one get one free price). For the buy "X" #" for "Y" $ circumstance you will be charged the full price for each item unless you buy "X" items.
I find this practice deceptive.in fact, if you confront an employee or manager about this, they will discount your bill, but who really has the time or ability to do this every time they shop there. This is an obvious way for safeway to make more money from consumers. I for one am very tired of being ripped off by this store and do my best to shop elsewhere, but There are literally millions of consumers who are being overcharged in this way - amounting to millions of dollars in additional profit for the Safeway corp.
