I recently moved to California from Florida and decided to try the fastfood restaurant Carls Jr. For a quick breakfast. Upon ordering my 4$ breakfast sandwich I noticed I was charged a 1$ surcharge for the use of my debit card?! While 1$ doesnt bother me in most cases, the fact that I was charged 1$ on a 4$ dollar meal seems a little outrageous to me and I will NEVER eat at this restaurant again and will encourage eveyone around me not too eat there as well.
Good luck with that business model Carls Jr. You just lost a customer for life and hopefully more.
(and yes I realize I could use credit and pay for it later, but I also realize that the banks will generally charge more to the merchant, and in the long run, drive up the regular cost to the consumer, which I am also against. So once again, so long Carls Jr... I have plenty of other options.
