I submitted to the restaurant manager definitive proof that I was double billed by the restaurant (two charges of $190.20 made one day apart). I submitted copies of the charge receipt, the restaurant bill, and pages from my bank statement proving that I was double billed.
After days of stalling the manager claimed that his accountant saw no evidence of double charging and declared that my bank (credit union) must be at fault. My Credit Union says that the only way that double billing can be indicated on a statement is for the restaurant to have double billed. The restaurant manager suggested that I dispute the bill as he could not reimburse me. Obviously, we will not be dining at this restaurant any more.
