I recieved a letter from this company stating it was on public record that I had a judgment against me and they could help. Having had my checking account garnished I was desperate for a solution to my finacial problems. I met with a consultant on a Thursday and was told that if I were to post date a check that JK Harris would begin working on my crisis immeadiatly. I called the following MOnday for my "welcome call" and was told this was not the case and money had to be posted before they could help.
A compassionate co worker lent me the 195.00 and I was able to wire the money that day. I did not have enough money in my account to cancel the check I wrote and did not feel I should have to spend money to cancel a check I was misinformed into writing. The next day I called and left a message with the consultant I gave the check to not to cash the check. Guess what? Several people three weeks and 579.00 in bank fees later I was told that JK Harris refused to refund ANY of my money. JK Harris did nothing for me. They did make arrangements for monthy payments to one of my creditors, however, I was unable to keep this arrangment due to my checking account being overdrawn. I had to contact the creditor myself to explain what happened. These people are cold hearted scam artists and must be stopped.
I have spent several hours this evening writing to different consumer complaint sites. It is my hope that this company gets shut down, so they cannot take money from another, scared desperate soul in need of some help. It is my hope that anyone unfortunate enough to have had bad dealings with this company will do the same. I emailed Dateline NBC also. If anyone else would be willing to do that maybe we can grab thier attention. We as consumers have a responsibility to do all we can, maybe it will save someone from being decieved by this fly by night company.
