I joined Ammend a few years ago. I am so sorry I did so. They were quite nice to me when they wanted my business, but after that it was all downhill.
At first I had problems with my bills not being paid correctly or on time. Then I had problems with one of my creditors still charging late fees and the wrong interest rates. When I needed to lower my payment amount, (which was still well over what my minimum monthly payment was) I was refused and treated like I was trying to dodge my debts completely. When I threatened to go to the credit card companies myself, they finally backed down. Then I noticed that they had started taking $10 out of every payment I sent them. Because I signed a "contract" I had little recourse but to continue on with this lousy service.
I am thankful that I am finally out of their clutches, but I feel badly for those unfortunate souls who have been suckered in to this ripoff of a company. The Better Busines Bureau of Cincinnati has received 54 complaints on them, and they have an unsatisfactory record with the BBB. Take heed of this when deciding what to do with your money. Don't get swindled like I did. There are good credit counselors out there, but this isn't one of them.
