It began as a simple transaction. I was contacted by a buyer online who was interested in purchasing a book from me. We exchanged several emails and arrived at a reasonable price. I began to prepare the book for shipment when I received an urgent message from my buyer. He reported the money which was suppose to be wire to me did not show up in his account. I replied I did not receive anything on my own end either. We started an investigation and discovered the online transaction website was hacked and the payment had been redirected to an unknown third party. Several days later my buyer, who had become my friend, send me a message that the thieves had been located and arrested. They were hackers who had originated from Ghana. My friend, who had contacted his cousin who lived in Ghana, knew an attorney who was willing to take on our case. We began communicating back and forth before we settled on a fee. The attorney claimed he is from Afo Mensah Legal Consultant in Ghana. He even produced a relatively authentic looking attorney retainer contract. I wanted to take this form to an independent lawyer for independent assessment but my friend convinced me to trust him. We began paying the attorney. It was the beginning of a nightmare. Over the next eight months the suspect continued demanding payments from us citing various expenses. Twelve months later I ran out of money and we did not receive anything from the attorney. My suspicions began to grow when I wrote a registered letter to the EFCC inquiring about an alleged agent who suppose to take care of the final closing process of the case. The EFCC responded stating the entire incident was a scam. As a result I had been robbed by these criminals for over $US35000. These suspects must be located ASAP. I have strong reasons to believe they are still at it using different alias and had scam more victims out of their life savings.
To the legit attorneys and lawyers who might be reading this please take notes. My fiancee is trapped in Ghana. I have reasons to believe these suspects are the cause of her entrapment.
