I have a student in a fine College. Full time Third year student doing well. I decided to get him a credit card to build his credit. Put in credit cards for college students into google and applied to Capital One which was the first one listed. He got denied because he was a student despite a 750 credit score.
What kind of a scam is this.
All 3 credit reporting agencies got a notice he was denied thereby reducing his credit by 100 points.
BOYCOTT CAPITAL ONE IF YOU ARE A STUDENT. The customer service rep admitted They are only fishing for the 2% of college students that are also working full time.
