Where do I start with the problems Greenpoint Credit has caused us? From day one there have been issues. Late payments, that weren't late, returned checks, that had cleared my bank, harrassing phone calls 2-3 times a day, threats of repossesion. The list goes on. I did not realize I was not the only one until I found this web site. Wow, it feels great to know I'm not fighting this company alone!
My husband and I separated for about a year and the payments got a little behind. After we got back together we were trying to catch everything up, it was like starting over again. This company called and demanded over $1,200.00 immediately. I said there's no way I have that kind of money. I told them I was sending them $100.00 over payment each month in an attempt to catch it up.in October I spoke with a representative from Greenpoint whose name is Ron at ext. 4220. He took a payment over the phone and said he was doing an extension on our loan. So we thought we were okay. A month later I got a call saying they were in the process of repossession if they didn't have all that was past due by the next day. I told them about the conversation with Ron and oddly enough no one knew who Ron was or why Ron would have told me that. Funny if Ron didn't work there, wonder how Greenpoint received the payment Ron took over the phone.
I sent a payment at the first of Jan. Which didn't post until the end of Jan. I sent a payment at the first of Feb. That didn't post until the end of Feb. We hadn't heard from them in a couple of months so we thought they had given us the extension as promised by Ron. I called Greenpoint in March to find out why my payments weren't posting until the end of the month only to find out my account was in the "legal department" and papers had been filed for repossession. I spoke with Randy Davis at ext. 4327 and he told me to send $500.00 Western Union and he would fax the paperwork for me to complete to do an extension. I did the Western Union on March 9. He told me to call him the day I did the Western Union. I did and he told me to call back in a week. I did. He said to call back on Friday. Which is today. Guess what? He won't answer his phone. Lovely!
My husband and I were served papers this week. We are suppose to go to court on March 30. They are planning to repossess. We are meeting with our lawyer today. I have been requesting for over a week a copy of my account history for the last 12 months. IF they have been giving me credit for all of my payments, why won't they send me my history? Good question.
