My wife and I had went through a ch7 bankruptcy due to many medical bills. I wanted to refinance my house so that I could get some roof repair done. I got turned down by our bank due to my credit history. So I wanted to start rebuilding my credit so that I could try again in 6 months or a year for a refinance.
Well I did a google search for credit repair and stumbled onto Accurise. Mistake. He is my story.
I first called and got sweet talked by their salesmen into giving them $700 to clean up my wife's report and mine. It was explained to me that the $700 was all that was needed to make my score go up 100 points, guaranteed or my money back.
So as the weeks go by, I check into my portal and look at what they plan to repair. I receive letters from the bureaus and forward them on to Accurise promptly. They had chosen 9 items from each the bureaus for me for a total of 27 items to clean up. After 60 days they had removed/repaired 4.
Then I notice that there is $159.98 debit on my checking account for Accurise. I call and inquire, and they explain to me that I was misinformed about how the process works. They would continue to work on my file for $79.99 per month until it was all taken care of. Now keep in mind, I was told I had called at the right time and that they were running a 2 for 1 special. So I had signed my wife up also, thats were the $159.98 comes in ($79.99 x 2).
So they continue their trend of removing 2 items per month, I had roughly a year of $79.99 payments just for me. They had actually wanted to clean up more on my wifes report. Wow, so that figures up to be $960 roughly. I wish they would have explained that to me, but they didnt.
After getting roped in, they send you some papers to sign and they explain things a hair better but still misleading and by the time you get the papers they have your money and good luck getting it back.
If anyone is interested I will putting up a copy of the documents they have you sign so that you can see what you are getting into. I wish someone had done that for me. I will be putting them up soon:
