I called taxmasters in January to help me with my $7,500 tax problem. I gave taxmasters all my financial info dating back to from 2007 to 2005 or 2004. After several months of calling taxmasters to send my report that they were supposed to prepare and send to the IRS, the representative told me to mail the IRS a $35 payment with my tax ID and my situation was all set.
After following these instructions, weeks later the IRS sent me back my check for $35 not knowing why I sent it. When I called the IRS they told me that they did not approve my tax settlement with taxmasters and that it had not been done properly. I called tax masters several times leaving messages regarding my situation with no return phone call.
After threatening letters from the IRS, I sought out a local CPA. I gave him the same info I sent taxmasters. He also called the IRS. He discovered that taxmasters sent the IRS sloppy and incomplete paperwork.
After he (My CPA) went through my tax problem. He discovered the IRS owed me money from previous years which offset the the amount I owed. Plus, the amount I owed should have been less then what the IRS projected.
I been wanting to do something about this for a long time. And every commercial taxmasters sells, I'm sure someone will be ripped of like me. I paid taxmasters close to $2000 for nothing.
