I had paid this company on a monthly basis for handling the administrative part of loan modifications and for holding consumer's money. When I requested the money that the consumer had paid and that the company owed to me under the agreement, the company's Vice President emailed me: "unfortunately there isjust nothing we can do... I know this is not your problem, butthe reality is that SLM has lost tens of thousands of dollars and has no fundsto pay out. I truly do apologize but that is the reality of thesituation."
