I was approve for a parent loan for my daughter in 2008. I was under the assumption that student loan payment begin after the student graduates. Well I was wrong I receive a notice in Aug that I had a pass due payment of 1000 and I was six months pass due. The problem i have was I was not even notified by mail that I was 30 day pass due. When I contact sallie mae company I was told that I can get the payment suspended all I had to do was send some documents to the school to show my daughter is a student. Well when the document arrive i had my name only on this document. I contacted sallie mae and by then the report was submitted to the credit bureau. I the contacted sallie mae to have this report fix on credit report but they toll me I have to contact the credit bureau myself. I was told by the credit bureau that I have to contact sallie mae myself. The problem I have with this company is they do not even give me notice and not even a bill until I began investigating why I have this problem. I have made regular payment since but I will still like to have them fix my credit report because they have mess up my credit score. This is the only company on my credit report with any late payments.
