Over the past several weeks I have received 8 phone calls, all from different numbers, all asking me to return the call, none of which identified the company or nature of the call.
I returned the 1st call, and the woman who answered asked my name and phone number which I gave her. She then said their call to me was a mistake. She would not tell me the name of the company or the reason for her call even though I insisted.
I ignored the next 3 calls, but after the 5th call, I traced all of the numbers back to Louisiana Recovery Services, Inc, and learned it was a collection agency. I then returned the 5th call, and again she wanted my name and phone number. I gave her my name but refused to give my number, because I gave it during my 1st return call and they know it because they called me 5 times. Again, she would not give me the name of the company or the nature of the call. I then told her that if this is a collection agency to send me an invoice or proof of a debt, and I will pay if it is legitimate. (I have never received an overdue bill from anyone.)
I then wrote a certified letter to the company telling them to send me an invoice or proof of a debt, and I will pay any legitimate debt, but to quit calling me.
The 6th call was a request for me to phone so we could discuss my letter. I called, but again, she wanted my name and phone number. I gave her my name, but told her that I have received 6 calls from them so they know my number. Plus I mentioned that I gave my number during my 1st return call, and their caller ID is giving my name and number. She refused to identify the company or the nature of the call. I ignored the last two calls.
This is a collection agency that will not tell me its name or nature of their calls to me, will not tell me how much I am supposed to owe or who the creditor is, even though I asked them several times over the phone and by certified mail. They just call and call so what can this be other than a game of harrasment for them?
Remember I was only able to identify them by tracing the 1st five different phone numbers they used, all of which came from Louisiana Recovery Services, Inc.
